    Hi there.

I don't really think playing blackjack online is a good idea if you want to make some money. There been loads of scams regarding online blackjack. Dunno how the big sites operates on them tho, but I would recommend you stay out of it.

Default hmm stay away from blackjack on & offline IMHO

    hi guys

Interesting thread - personally I would suggest staying away from blackjack or any other house games - roulette / blackjack / craps etc both online & offline

As far as I've ever worked out they are all games where you play against the house - you win some you lose some - but ultimately its a net losing game -

It has to be - Las Vegas wasn't built out of nothing - it was built out of the house profit

ok so I know alot of more serious players will say they can reduce the house edge / advantage from say 5% down to 1% for a game like blackjack - but lets face it when playing the game 100% optimally if your still at a 1% disadvantage your not going to win in the long run

Poker on the other hand is the exact opposite - even allowing for house rake etc

bottom line is the longer you play (well) the more you will make

Your playing and beating other players - NOT the house (they're just charging you for sitting down)

It's a tough bottom line but in poker your using your skill and taking advantage of others lack of skill to make a profit and be a winning player

Back on the blackjack thing - many a pro poker player has been known to tear a game apart and make a massive profit using their skill against others weaknesses - only to walk back to their room via the Blackjack / craps / roulette tables and p*ss it all away in a few short minutes

Blackjack etc is purely entertainment - nothing more nothing less - just spend accordingly -

If you have pots of money and you would be happy to loose what you would spend on a night out - then fine.
who is anyone to say how you should have fun or spend your money

however if you have little money to spare - DONT go looking to make money at house games

know you wont beat the house - but great fun if you can just play it for peanuts -
KNOWING you are certain to loose if you play for any length of time

Just my 2p worth - this is why I've never been too keen to promote casino games - we can all learn to get better at poker - casino games the only way to really win would be to cheat

and well thats cheating - so I wouldnt recommend that - I hear they still bury cheats in the desert near las Vegas ;-)

Thats some pretty tight thoughts mate. I was thinking the same thing the other day when I tried to BJ on poker.com after my post. I made 10 bucks after the first couple hands, then tried 2 more and ended up 10 bucks short.

Casino games is piss poor as u explain it.

Default its in the game rules - not the sites IMHO

    hi

yep I'm not saying don't play Blackjack etc - If you like it then fine - but its not going to be a road to profits

It's the rules of the game that give an inherent house advantage - not whether one site is fixed etc

Casino games in real casinos have house advantage - online they just have same rules so same house advantage IMHO

I've always heard that online casinos aren't bound by the same gaming laws of Vegas (for example) casinos as they are usually offshore.

One thing to understand, when your playing poker, be it ring or a tournament of any kind, the house doesn't care who wins because it makes no difference the the houses bottom line. All games of chance however are ALWAYS in the houses favour. It's easy to tell which give the most profit. Walk into any casino and what are the games that cater to the biggest number of customers? 1st SLOTS, you may as well flush ur money str8 down the toilet. 2nd BLACKJACK, the game is in the houses favour anyway, but so much depends on the last player before the dealer.
As for Blackjack online, stricktly for fun.

House will always get paid! If you want to play blackjack, do it for the free drinks and fun at a casino, you will always lose online!
