Default PokerStars $10k added SnG games

PokerStars are running the following games this weekend. They are packed with donks and the bad beats are huge but the value added is to good to miss

    Details from PokerStars site

    10,000 player Sit & Go’s

Also running during World Record Week will be a series of 10,000 player Sit & Go’s, with extra cash added to the prize pools. We expect these to fill up very quickly, so be sure not to miss out.
    • $1 buy-in
    • Up to 10 tournaments will run during the weekend of December 27-28, 2008
    • $10,000 added to each Sit & Go
    • Tournaments will appear in the Lobby on December 27 and begin when 10,000 players have registered. Once one tournament is full, it will start immediately and be replaced by another event

To find the tournaments, go to the PokerStars Lobby and select ‘Sit & Go’ and ‘All’. These tournaments can also be found by using the Sit & Go Filter.

I've considered entering the Guiness World Record tourney on Sunday.. with guar. $500K in prizepool and last I looked there was around 37,000 reg. This won't take as long as many might think. They regularly have tourneys there on Sundays with entrants in excess of 20,000 (same tourney.. used to be the Sun.$100K.. then the Sun$200K... looks like they're making a one time go of the Sun$500K).
The satellites running for this are just the absolute worst and my previous experience in the actually tourney is very poor play also (sure it can be great.... but when you're betting hard after flopping top2pr. and you have Corey Calling Station calling down a 2x pot-sized check-raise bet on the flop and then a shove on the turn when he hits one of his overcards.. and then the board prs. hitting his 2-outer for a set.... sigh... it's just a real drag after playing for a few hours, getting into the money and then having some donk suckout on you).
On the flip side.. if you do run deep you can pick up a few bucks for sure. Prizepool is split over a huge field so payouts are very small unless you place quite high. I've never cashed for more than $20 in them (twice in 4 attempts when I was new to online poker).
GL if you decide to play it. Pack a lunch (& a dinner if you're hypo-glycemic) as it'll probably go for 8 - 9hrs. (I think the 20,000 entrant one was about 7hrs. in duration... remember blind levels are at 10min. intervals which is pretty much a turbo imo... reg. online tourneys being 15min. levels.... makes for a big difference).
If you want to play a reallyyyyyy long one.. try the Sun.DeepStacked tourney with slow blind levels (I think they were 20min. levels... .maybe even 30.. idk.. I was getting pretty sleepy in that one... cashed ok in that one too but only played it the one time... 7hrs. of play for only a few times one's buyin just didn't seem worth it.... although there was unlikely potential for hitting the final table where the real money is at).

I've played the Sunday $100k now $200k game a few times ususlly win in from a $2.20 game when I'm feeling bored. I've cashed a few times probably around $500 overall. The best way to play is very very tight and very very aggresive in the first hour, try and push the chasers out. After the first break play more normally. I don't think I can play tomorrows Record game I won't be at home when it starts

money added sit and gos? now that is a very interesting and welcome idea. The added value is great, however the field size makes me hesitate. Pokerstars is just too damn big for some of there tournies

I was gonna play those over that weekend, but then I realized I no longer had anything that resembled a bankroll. However those were such a good value.

Hats off to Pstars for running such cool things. Now they even have 45 and 90 player SNG's with no rake and only .25 to buyin!!!!!!!!!
