I'm just wondering if anyone knows much about bots on poker sites like fulltilt. I read an article a while back about a bot that was making a fair bit until it got caught but didn't really think much of it. Anyway I was playing a $6 SnG tonight and one bloke (Fat_Ugly_Bold) from Brazil was playing in all 16 of the $6 SnG's. Now I don't know about anyone else but I have enough trouble playing 3 or 4 tables at a time and playing well let alone 16. I emailed fulltilt and will hopefully find out more so I'll keep anyone posted who's interested.

Anyone else got a similar story?

Oh yeah and what made me even more suspicious was that when I tried to talk to him during gameplay he wouldn't respond.

    Hmmmm..

Default playing 16 tables - and time to chat ???

    hi

lol - I think if someone is playing 16 tables ...

they are going to be about as interested in using chat as they are answering their front door to talk to a door to door salesman

16 tables playable ? yes ... any point for them in using / answering chat ? none

there is zero that is iffy about someone playing 16 tables - especially in sng's (thats even easier than 16 cash tables)

many pro players multitable lots of tables - look on Full Tilt when a pro comes on and generally they will play 6+ games at the same time

I've seen players do 20+ 24+ 30+ and even seen youtube vids of people doing upwards of 35-40 tables

yes its carnage for them - and I wouldnt recommend it (but it works for them)

but then Fulltilt has matrix with 4 tables live and thats in one game - so really dont think its an issue

    cheers scrawnybob

I would not worry if another player is not responding when you might say something to them, sometimes i don't respond either. Now about them playing 16 S&Gs at one time would throw up some red flags. I don't normally look and see if a player i'm up against is playing multiple S&Gs but maybe i should start looking. Let us all know what FTP customer support says about this. That is a very good point SB, If a player is on 16 tables at once might not have time to breath let alone pay any attention to the chat box.

Default 16 sngs is like 4 matrix games

    hi

yet afaiks playing 16 sng's is the same as playing 4 matrix games ... the matrix games are very popular and previously none multitabling players are finding ...

they can play 4 SNG's simultanously - and they all start at the same time

AFIAKS generally an sng takes 60 mins - being in 16 would mean joining 1 every 3-4 mins

Its not the sort of thing I would do ... a couple of Sng's for me or cash tables is fine - more I get a headache

but some people really do play this many

bots might be a problem at some sites (the obscure ones none of the good review sites review etc) - but they are just duff sites all round

dont think the 2nd largest poker site ie Fulltilt falls into that category

I think if you had a bot, you wouldnt do that many tables because its so obvious, I think with a bot you have to stick to 4 tables max to look completely human

Yeah I tend to agree scrawny as I'd imagine if all the pros are playing fulltilt then I'd imagine it's pretty safe. Either way I just thought it was a tad suspicious...

I don't respond to most people when I am only playing 5 or 6 tables...You expect a guy playing 16 tables to have time to type? Or even read your chat for that matter?

Just another thing take a look at this and tell me it isn't slightly suspicious...

Official Poker Rankings FAT_UGLY_BOLD Poker Ratings, Results, Statistics

A rating of 99.29% for the last two years running, it seems too good to be true. He must be a ridiculously good player

To be honest it would be harder for me to believe a bot ranked that well for that long than a person.

I also noticed that, if you look, most of the players than ranked in the 99th percentile last year also ranked there in the previous year. And probably will next year. So maybe they are all bots, but I think the more likely answer is that skill is consistent.

This "FAT_UGLY_BOLD" player's stats are outstanding, going to find F_U_B and watch him/her play, might just learn something. If i played this good i would give up my day job right now.
