managing self control over time

do any of you guys have any advice on how to keep your game consistant over long lengths of play by which i mean playing over months and months without losing focus or it becoming mundane i always seem to follow the same pattern of starting a bankroll keen to play revitalised you might say, laying down hands being tight but aggressive making good progress then a few months later i lose that focus and start going off my game slightly and as you all know a slight change can be devastating.anyhow it usuallly ends by cashing out before i lose it all.this cycle has been repeated several times and its one i need to break ant advice is welcome.

atleast ur smart enough to cash out b4 u lose it all....lol

when u seem to be going off ur game a lil just back off and take a couple days off...or longer if needed



lol look at me giving advice when i do the same thing as you....except i have never cashed out i always seem to just donk it off....though i am about to cash out a lil @ carbon just to prove to my wife that i will cash out from a poker site b4 she wins any money on pogo games....lol

Hey, same from me....Who I'm I to give advice. However, if it helps, I've found that being in the right frame of mind really helps me. Seems like one big factor is having the time to play and having plenty of patience. Good luck at the tables.

to be honest - i think if you cant keep focused for long periods of time,then your simplym not a poker player! In poker, so long as you know enough, if youve got the focus itl get you a lot more $$ then a good player with no patience
