Smile my personal favourites & possible effects of UIGEA

hi

glad you like 4kingpoker and find our info helpful

check out Scrawnybob's top 10 poker sites and also lists for different things you look for in a site are linked from that page.

sites I personally like or think you really should check out our reviews -

PKR.com review - stunning 3D poker and now very playable for real money including multitabling, good tournaments.

Poker.com review - underated IMHO the best software for playing on, simple, effective and packed with good stats & notes. Also good for freerollers (which means fresh meat in real money too) but maybe not so good for SnG's

Titan Poker Review - Set to get bigger now they have bought out tribeca tables - easy to play, weak players, easy notes, much improved on the tournament side + our bonus is a great all round package.

With over 35+ poker reviews I've definately come to the conclusion that alot of it is personal preference -

Which is why I am happy to offer bespoke advice / help to any members or visitors - let me know your preferences / limits / games / priorities and I will narrow things down for personal preferences.

just PM me "scrawnybob" if anyone wants the personal touch rather than my best shot at offering some good "fit all" options.

It comes down to having a look at the individual reviews and then just download and try a few sites - using our links / banners

Play money is good for at least getting a feel for the interface & you can check out the choice of tournaments and cash games at your usual playing times ...

As a general note to new players ... really dont EVER try to get better at poker at play money tables ... just deposit some cash and play careful.

I like the smaller sites - your player notes are "worth" more and overlays on tournies can be bigger and graphics tend to be better on newer sites.

I lilke full table cash games, full table SnG's - yet I know players who specialise in short handed and enjoy turbo 6 seat SnG's - some site do all of this, some sites excel at certain areas.

Alot of things have changed with the UIGEA bill in America -

I remember commenting a few months back that PokerStars & FullTilt had been getting alot looser and gaining alot of weak players as they both grew well ...

Interestingly the % to the flop rates at both sites seem to be coming back down again ... I think the European players aren't restricted by the bill so will move where the fish are.

More experienced / Break even / Good Rec US players can no longer do this ... But the US / American impulse / beginner / casino gamblers are running out of pre UIGEA deposit money and some will not bother to go through new deposit methods to continue playing for real money ... this means less fish and tougher games at some of the predominently US sites.

I try to be honest & impartial on the reviews but also making my own thoughts clear on sites whilst finding both positive & negative points - some site I'm not a big fan of personally eg. Party or Pacific but I can also see why players like them ... we all have different priorities.

The sites I like or think have particularly outstanding qualities may not suit all players so I try to recommend a mix or highlight why a site is good (and where its not so good)

I'm not a total fan of pokerstars interface and cash games are tougher (there are much juicier sites for easy money) - but it's a great site if your a MTT tournament player.

FullTilt is a very popular site and the games get juicier at peak times and have good tournaments. I find the software is ok in fact on simple settings pleasant enough, but again there are much juicier cash games at smaller sites - so really its a good for players who like SnG's & MTT's.

Party Poker is well - hmm the software is "old skool" so I really dont like it much - but the games are really easy to win if you really can put up with the downsides & alot of players like the easy bonus requirements ... Think chunky peanut butter.

Ultimatebet is good looking site with plenty of games, not really loose or too tough but the bonus takes forever (up side is it pays out as you play) - also good for loose short handed & turbo games.

Originally as a mac player I like OnGame / PokerNetwork sites like PokerRoom, Hollywood & EuroPoker and find the interface and good volume of SnG's and full table cash games a big plus - on the other hand the network is unpopular with some players ... think Marmite

For me I get affected by the environment, layout & buttons etc - sounds odd but I play better on a site that is functionally sound and logical - I can concentrate on the actual mechanics of the game / position / bets etc.

Personally having a choice of 100's of games is all well and good but what is the point in hunting through to find a loose game if you can save the time by playing a smaller site where the majority of the games are loose anyway.

Out of all the 100's of sites out there 4kingpoker only reviews sites which have some merit or reason to play - it's up to personal preference which elements are more important - even our lowest rated sites have upsides ie. some look terrible BUT they have totally beatable games far beyond bigger sites who look and play better.

The ones that make it to the top of our ratings should offer a good amount of everything - unlike some review sites 4kingpoker IS NOT swayed by what we get paid - If we can get a better deal / bonus for our players / sign-ups then they rank higher - I rank them purely on what I think they offer players overall or for specific qualities you may be looking for

sorry that didnt end up the short answer I planned but hope its a help;-)

cheers scrawnybob - webmaster

Default got carried away

hi guys

hope you have a good game at titan - I'm not going to make it ;-(
as I forgot we've got a 30th birthday party to go to

good luck all

yep sorry it ended up a long post - a lot of things popped into my head as I was suggesting things more came up to mention

rough bottom line / short version with reviews on poker sites / choosing best poker sites is -

Everyone is different & certain features are more / less important -
with a different set of priorities eg. cash ring games / tournaments

4kingpoker tries to offer -

simple top 10 solutions which will suit most players.

specific top 10's ranked towards certain features - bonus / size / software etc.

full reviews of as many sites as we can (35+) - all have good points & bad points highlighted

Yes we earn money as affiliates to these sites when you sign up using our banners / links
(which funds tournaments / time for running site etc)

But unlike some sites who will rank sites higher if they get paid more - We DONT.

If we can get you a better bonus at a site - then it makes it a better deal for you and will rank the site better.

cheers scrawnybob - webmaster
