Great to see that you have a goal to satelite into WSOP 2010.

It is realistic and something I myself achieved this year.

There are many ways you can achieve this and 'satelites' are by far the most cost-effective way to do so in my humble opinion.

However in saying that ... Online Satelites are extremely difficult due to the thousands upon thousands upon thousands of aspiring players like yourself that you will encounter on your WSOP 2010 journey. You may find (as I did), that these satelites are 'lotteries' and 'donkaments'.

If your bankroll allows it, play in higher buy-in satelites which have much lower fields.
The buy-in to the WSOP 2010 is approx $US10k. How much are you prepared to spend on WSOP satelites? Typically, you should be prepared to spend up to $2k. Anything over that and I would seriously consider building my bankroll for a direct buy-in.

In 2007, I spent approx $2k in WSOP Online Satelites to no avail. This was the only time I had played online poker ever. I lacked online experience and to be honest ... I totally sucked!

In 2008, I spent $zero and won a WSOP 2009 seat through the Australian Poker League (APL) and their 'Live Freeroll Tournaments'.

It may be beneficial as you build your bankroll over the next 6 months, to make regular withdrawals and place it into a special WSOP 2010 bank account.

It is to your advantage to do your own 'Due Diligence' and 'Research' in finding sites, tournies, promotions that suit your own personal needs, goals, schedule and bankroll etc.

I sincerely wish you all the best and hope to see you at the WSOP 2010.

Hey gang and happy new year to everyone.

It looks like you all are reducing WSOP to the main event which is a terrible thought in my view.
Nearly 55+ tournaments will occur in next schedule and that should allow everyone of you to enter a tournament considering smaller BIs are down to $1000 with Event 3/13/36/47 and 54 which are all THNL. Two others are restricted to seniors (34) and ladies (22). If you're looking for varieties you'll be able to join variety games for as low as $1500.

WSOP, IMO, isn't all about the main event and other world champion title are really prestigious too. Check the schedule and choose your game the right way.

Good luck in satelliting into vegas this year. I would give the same advice as everyone else and focus on other events and not just the main event. Keep us posted throughout the year and fill us in on your progress!
