poker room
I want to have own poker room in the internet. Where should I start from? Is it better to use affiliate program or develop independent software? How much money do I need?

A figure I was told recently was $50,000 min to start up as a skin on a network such as merge. To start your own software I would think you will be looking in $ millions in software development costs and testing.
Best networks to contact would be Everleaf or Merge but to be honest in the current financial situation you would need to be very careful.Leicester 'till I die!

That's a good business i guess, but kind of dangerous, IMO.
You should check how many rooms collapsed during past year before creating one.
Pokerrom collapsed in April, Cardoza in July, Pitbull in March and i feel like many others closed their doors too.
Good luck with your goals.

Very Risky business indeed the way new Poker Sites are popping up all the time. Like too many restaraunts in the same area all competing. Many have to offer too much to forums like ours or in general free rolls and end up going Bust. So many Merge sites and a player can only play 1 Merge site at a time.

you can play at only 1 merge site at a time unless you use the sandbox software, then you can play at multiple merge rooms!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for your advices! I'll think it over. The business is really risky but I have a strong desire to start it.

You should think over the whole concept and the whole business. And one more time think over if you have all the necessary resourses, apart from money, like marketing, advertisement, technical support to start the business. This is not as easy money as it seems to. Yes I may agree that you'll get money easily, but it's difficult to start the business. I agree with nb1961 . You need $50,000 min to start up and developing own software is really expensive. You can buy independent software and keep 100% rake. You can use software by Enterra. Thier Enterra Poker is fees free and they do not control your operations. Besides you can buy source code. I also like gamma seven. They offer affiliate programs and this way you pay them % from the rake. It's easier to start with affiliate however you should pay them all the time.

nice shill posts imho
hi
appart from the most likely fact post above is a shill post ... therefore OP is too
2 things
1) you might get a skin licence for $50k but any network worth its salt (and that would include merge) will expect you to have alot alot more money besides to fund a decent marketing budget ...
sites who dont - dont last, some networks dont care and some networks might let the odd one get through but IMHO basically if you havent got 500k dont bother
your money would run out before you had got anywhere and you will just be left with a lame site with no traffic and no revenue - the only winner would be whoever ripped you for a turnkey software for a crap site or onto a very small network where you would just be another no hope small site trying to get on
2) seriously IF your asking this question in seriousness (ie. not a shill post) then you WONT get anywhere ... save your money and do something else in the business and gain some experience or do something else entirely

If you aren't in by now it probably isn't gonna happen. Some windows of opportunity only stay open for so long. What kind of experience do you have that makes you qualified to operate a casino room? Do you have customer service skills? Have you
$$$ to start a business?
Feltstars just recently is the latest newcomer. Do you have $5,000 to give as prizes for a freeroll. And that is not your only freeroll for the month, as most people don't want another poker account unless your freerolls are $500.
You can break some teeth in the business by being a poker moderator at a site. Just contact a site you are interested in. Do this for about 5 years and your thoughts of running your own casino will be history. If not, then let upper management know of your ambitions.
I know some people asked this same question of getting in the mortgage business too, and that easy money window has closed, also. I hear the next big money maker
is reindeer meat, so if I was you I'd take that money you wanted to purchase a website with and purchase some reindeers. Maybe Santa's elves can help you with the details.
Good luck in your endeavor...

if you really want it you should go for it no matter what anyone says, just make sure you are prepared and know what to expect. i have a friend who opened his own site a few months ago after years of planning, he told me it is a long term goal to pull a nice profit, not a get rich quick scheme. like anything else in life it takes money to make money so start banking some green and befriend some people who are knowledgeable about the business.
