Default Online poker Vs Live in person poker

I'll admit, I play poker mostly online. I play online poker like eighty percent of the time. Twenty percent of the time I play live in person poker. Im good in reading people live poker. Online poker if a player take his time in calling he might not have good hand.

I don't know what you mean. Are you asking if online players are better than live players?

I think they are two different games. I know live players who can't play live and vice-versa.

I think the new brand of player can play both with ease. They know how to slow down playing live.

I wish I could play live more. It's so much better than online.

Both are hard as hell for me.

The main thing I noticed is that live seems to have a lot less high card action, meaning that 2nd top pair will a lot of times hold up. Where as online I rarely shoot for 2nd top pair cause you see it sometimes but not a lot (just my observation not a fact by any means) I have noticed though online the longer the MTT's go, 2nd pair will hold up pretty well though so I think it just goes back to the law averages thats its all going to about be even if you took 500 live and 500 online hands. The beats at the table hurts worse though, instead of someone in a chat room saying NH or ragging you, at the table, people get all hyped up for a showdown and then if you lose , you hear the groans and WOW that was close, but these people see you lose for real, not just some avatar on the screen. AND DAMN ITS HARD TO SMILE when you get suckout on the river on a hand that someone should of never even been playing.

Im never going to be one of these people those to say online poker is rigged (I really cant stand the bot and collusion stories though because DAMN ITS A GAME OF REALLY BEATING YOUR OPPONENT not having a bot that has programming to play perfect poker or people chatting off poker sites and I also dont like the snap on odds calulators and all this data mining stuff) But Im sure just like in real life some people probably get a little extra bump but at the levels I play It just stupid if its rigged, because Im just one of these little low buy in fishes that when I become good at the game will become a bigger buy in fish and why would sites want to scare off players like that with craziness

I play alot of poker online but not much live.

I probably should try to play more live as I have done pretty well when I have played.

I've been to my local casino 3 times, won once, cashed and 1 loss.

The first time I went, I was kinda nervous cos I wasn't used to it but you soon get into the groove.

I find the two more similar than different.

    However:

    1) More meta game in live poker since you can see and interact with the people (whether they want to or not) and they can interact with you. There is no chat off feature in live casino.

    2) Playing live you have to account for tipping the dealer when calculating your ROI.

    3) Depending on if you carry money or leave it in safe in room, busting out in live casino sometimes requires a walk rather than just a click :-)

    4) Depending on where you play live there are just as many gamblers live looking for a thrill as there are online. For example, a lot of people in Vegas sit down and are willing to gamble, whereas, a private higher stakes game may have less gamblers.

Oh yeah and where online I think you can label styles Tight-Tight; Tight- Aggressive; fish; donk; etc. Never put a gambler in any category, gambler is its own category. And I find more gamblers online at the betting sites like BoDog, Sportbooks, etc.

I like live better because it is nice to see the results of winning instantly when cashing in the chips. Also, I think there is more of a "value" to the chips rather than some number on a screen and you ae more likely to cash out when you are ahead,

I've played once in a casino live poker tourney. It was a rebuy and addon. I hated every moment of it and they played exactly the same as the online rebuy and addon tourneys. All in with rubbish most of the time. Give me online poker any day of the week.

It's a different game,... there are things I like about each.
One of the things I don't particularly care for in live games is that it is soooooo slow at times. Also the live play in my area is genearlly really bad (great for the cash games but the tourneys are a bit of a drag). So bad in fact that you'll actually get some players who'll stand up, pick their cards up, look at the board while counting on their fingers, look back at their cards (in their hand while standing up), match them again with the board.... then they're calling if they've got any piece (btm pr., a gutshot draw, whatever). THis is a $75 buyin, lol.

LOTS of great points I like about live play... and just as many or more that I like about online play. If it were a choice between the two which would I pick? Well.... 'it depends', lol. Many times I've found myself picking online when I've had a bunch of tourneys lined up to play in while there was a live tournament starting up a few blocks from my home.
