I don't mind Turbo MTT's. They're not my favourite by any means but I don't mind them... & alot of people play them poorly.
Often you'll see SNG players who transition over to MTT's will do quite well in Turbo MTT's as it shares alot of the same skill sets. (basically it's a great game for players who are good with playing stack sizes of 10-25bb's.. where you're basically looking to 3bai (re-steal shove).. open-shove... or just fold, lol. I see ALOT of players raise/folding on stacks they shouldn't be doing that with, along with flatcalling raises on stacks that really aren't deep enough to be doing that either.
Some guys actually specialize in the Turbo MTT's and do REALLY WELL at them (& quite consistently) which would lead me to believe > they're not "all about luck" (but perhaps I'm missing something?
)
Turbo MTT.. gots to be ready to gambool!! Last one I played I felt as if I'd actually blown it as there were a few spots where I felt like I should be getting it in (or where I was about to reship over initial raiser/shover) but then the player beside me beat me to it (which sucked... especially when I discovered I was ahead of them both.. sigh). As the one guy (on my immediate right said.. when I made an awful fold while priced in in BB (with 32o mind you... but still... it was a 'call' but I chose to fold).... "You gots to dance man!" (this guy had profit in excess of $700k on fulltilt.. pretty sure he knew what he was talking about, lol). I ended up with a 7th of ~350 which was cool.. 'but'.. could've been better I think if I'd been 'ready to dance'.
