Angry Fed up with sitouts !!

I'm getting fed up with the freerolls that have 70% sitouts - not only is it boring, it's frustrating when players keep going allin to win all those blinds. I don't have enough patience always end up going all in at exactly the wrong time. - I was at 2 tables on .com today that had 7 sitouts on each table! ARGGGG!
Is there any way to move the registration time closer to the tourney start time- maybe that would help a bit, I don't know.
I hate complaining- but I do (or used to) pretty well in your freerolls and did enjoy them until lately when it seems like nobody shows us for them.

I agree. Why bother to even register,if you're just sitting out? It's very unlikely you'll even make the money. Some sites take you out of a tourney if you do.I think they all should be that way.

    Default sitouts

    hi

I agree - but doing the admin side you see another side to it (which doesnt make it any easier)

UB kick of the no shows after a few hands which is ok

The problem with the freerolls is that alot are new members and post crud just to play and then some dont show - also this time round we had alot of existing members and maybe a few non members who guessed the password before it was ever even posted anywhere on the site (the next ones I fix up won't be so obvious)

I dont know who the no-shows were but the password wasnt up until late and wasnt PM'd out until >24hrs before yet we had loads signed up from way before

The problem is that if I set the registration late - then unsuprisingly I get everyone else PM me for passwords all week and also wanting to register in advance - cant really win

personally I'd like to make the posting requirements a bit more to get regular posting to play - but I'm sure alot of members won't be keen on that either

Ideally I'd like to have min 4/5 posts per month to play rather than the one off 5 posts - this may help - but I don't think you can ever eliminate no-shows

    cheers scrawnybob

    Hi Bob-
Thanks for your reply - I must apologize to you for even posting this, lol. I guess I was cranky after that tourney yesterday! What the hell am I wasting both of our time complaining about a freeroll for anyways!?! doh! I'll just stick to your money added tourneys (when I can remember them!) , and not take the freerolls so seriously - that's a promise. lol!
    Have a great day!

    Default Sorry...

I unfortunately was one of the sit outs. I didn't sit out trying to post to make the money. I am usually off all day on Wednesday, making it my poker day, but I was called in to both of my jobs, so I apologize. For those of you not from the US, however entering freerolls at Party Poker and sitting out will get you in the money approx 30% of the time. Yes we tested it!!! Sorry once again
Fear me for I will fold

    Default no worries guys

    hi guys

no worries on either score - don't mind you getting your frustration out here and if I know about probs and ideas then they have a chance of getting sorted - if not then we don't get the chance to look at ways of making things better - so all feedback is useful feedback

a good example is when our UB tournie ran on default settings which meant crazy turbo - which we won't have again as we will spec it for us not the default

sitouts are unavoidable for some and that's not a prob - it happens - the cat pukes up, the house falls down etc and I'm sure 90% plan to make it but it's always going to be higher in freeroll's

personally I'd like to do more buy-ins - and we will keep building them but freerolls do attract new members and some of them go on to become great members posting more than just the minimum to play etc

    good luck at the tables

    cheers scrawnybob

I agree with you scrawny, we should try to eliminate the sitouts. Im part of another forum and they have weekly (3 msgs) posting requirements to view all freeroll passwords. The pay games they have the pw's for free. It seems to work pretty well for them, in terms of have having fewer sitouts.
