Reminds me of Napster
Remember back when Napster first started out, people were trading songs for free online, and everyone in the music industry went ape? They started lawsuits, sent threats to kids, called them thieves, etc.
I always wondered why the guys in the music industry didn't start a web site of their own, selling songs for .50 cents a piece...they would have made billions.
Same with poker. Some people think that U.S. Casinos are part of the lobby to ban online poker, because they feel that they are losing money to it. It's not true, I wouldn't gamble in Vegas anyway because I live too far away. The local poker rooms in my area are not really 'local' anyway. I like to have a few drinks when I play, and so I'd rather not drive.
Why wouldn't the American Casino's fight to keep online poker legal, and open their own poker sites? BinonsHorshoePoker.com, or MGMGrandpoker.com. They could set up a great poker room online, send you ..even if you a buck send it to you via PayPal or a check...they would make billions!!@ People like me who don't travel to casino towns would play at Binions site well before I every played at an off-shore site.
I just don't get it - if I owned a Casino in Vegas, I'd be fighting tooth and nail to keep it legal and have my own poker room online. Imagine it, taking a rake with no dealer to pay, no table to maintain.....Oh well, wish in one hand I guess...
Life is uncertain, eat dessert first, and make your good-bye's count, because nobody promised you tomorrow.
