Play Chip Games: Good or bad (The Dilemma of Practice)

My main interest at present is playing lower limit money games but at times I feel I need to break form this as I'm really still learning the game. The obvious choice for me is play the play chip games. These give me the chance to practice without the fall in bankroll if I need to work on a particular area of my game.

But recently I have begun to doubt the wisdom of doing so. I have noticed a substantial difference in the quality of players between the money and play chip games. Does suffering bad beat after bad beat hurt my game? I believe it does. Having others call down standard raises with premium cards with cards that most of us would muck does hurt and ultimately what does it teach us? Well anyone can get lucky with 2 cards. It just doesn't seem to work for me .

The dilemma then is how do we find quality games to practice in that don't lead to a decimated bankroll overnight.

One answer for me is to join in the freerolls, which many sites like this one promote.

Do you agree with my analysis or have you had similar experiences, maybe you have found other ways to practice?

Personally I play only at FullTilt. Do you believe this site promotes this type of behaviour through its easily and frequently used (without doubt) facility of 'reloading' within a very short period of time?

I'm interested in your views and solutions to the above.

I think that because u can reload the chips so frequently people in the play chip games don't care as much.

There is a HUGE difference between the quality of player, and maybe not so much the quality, as how much they do care, because you can just reload and go again. In many of these games you have to be patient, and let all the idiot's just get out of the way, because they will eventually

not every single play chip table is completely full of all in donks. and you also get them in real money tournaments, eventhough less frequently so you can use them to help your game against the idiots out there

In play money games, there are too many players who dont care about their stack. All-in with 3-7 is so frequent, even in final table of freeroll i've seen player dont care about positions or style of other players.

If you are like me a statistics lover, play money tournaments are not the good way to practice
