I hate sucking out it pisses me off and makes me feel like a damn donk. Look at the hand below and tell me if there was any way for me to get away from this hand, or is it just one of those hands that almost anyone would go all in with?

It wasn't your fault really. This is why I generally dislike slowplaying. The board was fairly dangerous, and if I was in his shoes, I would have not slowplayed the hand postflop given the flush draw possibilities. I very rarely slowplay dangerous flops unless I am very sure of the possibilities.
In any case, there is no instance in this hand that merits bad/donkey play. You got to see a free flop, hit a two pair on the turn, and probed at the pot with two pair. Maybe your all in was a little excessive given the straight draw on the board, but with a flush draw and kings up, it was not a donkey move. Besides, if people see you as a donkey player, that makes it all the better because they won't respect your raises and then you trample them with your monsters.
Not your fault in my opinion. He choose to play slow, so he has to live with the danger that someone gets a better hand post flop. And once you had the two pair+flushdraw there was no chance you could avoid the showdown.
Why do you hate suckouts. Everyone sucksout. I think to win large and major tournaments you have to suckout at least once. Just look at it as a gift from the poker gods.

i hate luck
hi shad,
i also hate getting lucky...
dont know why, i guess the reason for that is turning from a student to an expert.
read a book about someone who was very sad about him getting/feeling old.
he came to a 90 year old doctor... they were talking about 20 minutes without even mentioning the illlness.... then the doctor sais to him what his sickness was , and said that he knew all about the patient even before he started talking.... so whats the deal you ask?
the deal is that the doctor maybe old but one thing no one can take away from him and that is: his life experience.
same about poker- someone said that the better he was, the luckier he got.
the experienced players know that poker is more about skill and less about luck. in my live game, the young unexperienced early chipleader, called someones allin with j2 off and rivered a straight flush with that deuce (his opponent flopped a flush holdind a king while the ace was already on board.
the live screams were heard from st petersburg to moscow!!!!!
but the interesting fact was that non of them was sitting at the final table along with me
ok so you get lucky several times during the session, but in order to get to the final table, and more important- winning it, takes a whole more than just stupid luck or a fucking bad beat.
Not your fault in my opinion. He choose to play slow, so he has to live with the danger that someone gets a better hand post flop. And once you had the two pair+flushdraw there was no chance you could avoid the showdown.
Id have to agree with this. He slowplayed himself right outta the hand. I wouldnt have been able to get away from 2 pair at the turn either..........
