Using AI Software When playing On-Line

Hi

I am new to poker, so please excuse me if this is a stupid or asinine question.

When I joined a few of the poker sites I noticed that they specifically mentioned that the use of AI software, while playing, would result in all kinds of ramifications (account being closed, Account cash balance being frozen, etc).

But, I also noted that a software company called Magic Hold'Em offerred an AI software program that could be used at a number of the larger poker sites.

Could anyone give me some advice in regard to this (or any) AI software ... whether the software distributor's claims are correct, whether the software is a useful tool, whether any of the poker site actually DO ALLOW the use of software, etc.

basically as I understand it -

sites generally allow poker odds calculators or anything which maybe offers you advice or statistical information / suggestions ... which the player then has to act on

sites dont allow Bots etc which theoretically you could leave attached to just play the games online automatically by themselves

and yes - they will ban / freeze accounts etc on anyone they suspect of any form of cheating including using bots

rough rule of thumb - if its something that is helping you / suggesting but requires that you make the final decision to bet / call / raise / fold etc ... then its OK

if its running magically on its own ... then its NOT

Hi

The software keeps track of the cards in the flop .. river and your hole cards and from what I've read gives a percentage of what the odds are of the opposition having better hands, but doesn't interact with the poker software like a bot program would.

But, I think I will err on the side of caution & stay away from any AI program.

I suppose, it's like everything else ... yah gotta pay your dues, before you get paid.
Learn by my own mistakes.

Joe why would any one who wishes to study poker, the art of playing poker, loves playing poker, want to use any thing ( software) or any one sat behind them, what are they going to achieve in the "Poker Life?

Hows it going to help them win the EPT, I can see me sat a table with Bob ( as in above) Devilfish,Trumper,the hendon mob, etc etc and saying: Excuse me chaps I can't play this hand cos I am an Imbecile just going to consult a bot??? I lose all my blinds and chips by the time I got back...They would say: Ya Son go on help your self and LAFF in total glee....

Joe mate , if you want to be the best use your own "Noggin" not some bit of expensive shit.....Brunson,The Sailor,Amarillo..wouldn't even know how to turn a computer on...but they sure know how to play JJ utg...

You want to file all that nonsense under file:BIN1 its bollocks m8 Concentrate on playing poker, starting hands, how to bet, when to bet, when to bluff.

That was the conclusion I reached about 20 minutes after I posted the question.


Your right .. I could see Fish, Doyle or Negreanu laughing themselves silly ( But bugger me ... it would be great to be in their class of player).

Start from scratch, learn, not make too many mistakes and keep on learning.

I agree ... The only way to go.
