In bringing this up, I know I may be running the risk of blipping the radar of some Homeland Security guys monitoring the "internets" for illegal poker activity.... but.
Has anyone here found a way to get around the "not open to US Players" bs on most of the sites? Can you sign up with a European address (I do have one) and/or claim to be a citizen of another country? (I have that too.)
But I'm playing from the US and of course the sites can tell that your IP address is in the US, so how does one go about tap dancing the system there? Are we forever relegated to the 4 sites actually accept Americans.
Any stories, tips, tricks? I think the Homeland Security guys would wanna know too. Right, guys? (What do you think they do in the van while they listen to you -- Online Poker! Hell yeah!)

why waste your time with doin it even if you can???....if u win and try to cash you will get caught anyway.... and how do you figure only 4 sites for USA players i have 15 on my pc...and there are others that i don't have...so there are plenty of them to not have to bother with tryin to break the rules

How can they catch you if you use moneybookers to cash out? (as example)
Kingjames -- there are two additional factors for me: 1. I'm a Mac user and that brings the "open to US" sites I can use down to one, Full Tilt, which I like a lot, but you know I'm a guy, so I wanna see "what else is on?" and 2. What if I can get a free bonus dealio at another "non US" site that I wanna take advantage of...
i know nothing about moneybookers...but the main point being that there are plenty of sites open to USA players to not have to go thru all that
I'm not talking about if is good or not, if is needed or not. Just talking about facts.
I think that a person living in USA can avoid controls and play in "Closed to US Players".
we have 4 sites "open" to US players in the US Open league - but there are a load more who say they are "open" to US players in our review section (each review has the poker sites decision on whether they are accepting US players or not) also there is a link on the homepage to sites who have announced they are open to US players
we have chosen the 4 sites for the leagues because they are good sites open to US players and because we try not to keep changing the selection every 5 minutes - we could put up 4 totally different US friendly sites without much of a problem but I think alot of members would moan if Full Tilt or Stars wasnt in the league
Please bear in mind - as a site we dont take any responsibility for the poker rooms statements announcing they are "open" to US players - we are just reporting the fact that these rooms have decided they dont think the UIGEA is legally inforcable and therefore still take US players - the bill affects banking & the sites themselves not players.
cheers Admin
