middle pocket play

Okay. obviously there are a lot of scenarios and many ways to play them, but in general how do you play them from early, middle or late position. I tend to call from early and raise from middle and late. I struggle after the flop if overcards come. I will make a continuation bet if first to act but if that gets called what hands could i put my opponet on. Did he hit an overcard or is he on a draw? Is it better to make a pot sized bet and if called or raised i would think I had a better feel for their hand?

mid-sized pockets(5-9) are overrated, there's no need to jump on them unless you are low enough or in great enough position. i usually check or make a bet no larger than the pot...you have to realize that with mid pairs comes the inevitability that more likely than not, sum1 will catch a higher pair, and you have two outs in the deck, or need 4 cards to the str8. yeah, over-rated.
