Exclamation Invitation/Vote

Vote now for if the tournaments that are being organized by bob have to be by invite and password, since allot of passwords being send out to unknown people , i know this cause i see people i dont recognize and when i search them here, i cant seem to find them , that really is bad , since then the true 4kingplayers suffer from the game that is being played , so vote now if the tours have to have invation only or not .

Thumbs up

My Opinion.

Bob does a fantastic Job, Thank You Bob.

This is the BEST and MOST EDUCATIONAL Forum on the web re poker.

Ruling by committee doesn’t work, so I like the fact there are NO other moderators.

A benevolent Autocracy CAN work if the Autocrat has the standard of Morals and sense of “Fair Play” That Bob has.

The motto of 4kingpoker is Don’t Get Bitter Get Better so chastising or stopping password whores posting incoherent or dross’ee posts can ONLY Improve the education of this forum, I believe a core intent of the web site.

I vote INVITATION ONLY.

Regards
The Gypsy

Which is a good reason to post your screen names in a thread and have password sent by invite only. There is even a site that will buy freeroll passwords from it's members who then distribute it to all it's members who then swamp your private game. I joined it to cross reference it's membership and visit once a week to update new members there. If I ever find anyone giving out passwords from the forum I am admin at they are banned instant, no questions asked. Thanks Bob for all you do and the games you set up for us.

I am new here and as yet do not play the forum free rolls, So I do not think I should say what happens. All I can say is Gypsy seems to know what he/she is talking about, So if I had to vote I go with him/her. (him/her???)

Also I think Bob does a Great Job of the site, I have a lot of fun in here. Thank you from myself as well.

Default admin / passwords / invites

hi all

I'm following this thread with interest - as I clearly recognise that password sharing is an issue for all forums, I'm not sure we suffer anymore or any less than other sites generally

I can definately see how on the face of it an invite list would seem to be the best solution ... If not seeing the amount of admin for it ;-)

seriously the pacific games are horendous to organise between them and us - alot of time if spent

this is why most sites dont want to have invite lists and from what I gather they are also planning to change

I am simply not going to spend 3 days a week sorting our, submitting, resubmitting lists, losing players, getting players re re re contact me etc - its a total pain ... and thats for a relatively small amount of players ... I wouldnt even want to think what FT game would be like

that doesnt mean that Im not concerned about the freeroll password sharing - but

generally you would be very very suprised how many members who have legit posts etc still dont really read rules / send me info anything like on time etc and then expect me to magic them into a game an hour beforehand

I havent got any solutions - other than I know running an invite list for all the games ... isnt going to be the solution ;-)

I will be sorting the screen names in profiles thing - as someone rightly pointed out there are alot more legit members in the games than maybe people realise as they have alot of different screen names

I think we may make the password situation an if you got the password PM great - if you joined in the last 24hrs ... you'll have to wait for the next one

but in all honestly the last joining members who post halfway decent are NOT the problem

the problem is 2 or 3 members who have 10+ posts who give out the passwords on a serious scale ... I banned one member I caught red handed and they were probably a member who would have been considers fairly OK (certainly not a 10 marginal poster)

cheers scrawnybob

1) I don't see why members should be forced to disclose their usernames in their profiles, some people may not want to.

2) I think the system of announcing passwords by PM works well, and I don't think invitations are necessary. Even the PM system involves a fair bit of work for Bob, a lot of forums just post the password for all members to see.

I'm quiet happy to give Bob my user id for sites we play on here but I will not post them on a forum for all to see.
When I play as mrspolarbear alot of people know me and know my way of playing but if I sit with them on another site and they don't know me it makes it easier for me to play them then them me.

The games I have played in hasn't had many members in so where are all these that have the password too.

How many active members do we have here?
