Default Right turns wrong

11 people left. Top 9 pay.

I am fifth in chips and in the BB with JJ.

Folded to the chip leader on the button who makes a standard raise.

SB thinks and folds.

I push.

He calls with Ad Kd

Flop comes Jd 8d 2h

And, I'm out when he hits his flush.

You would be lost that hand anyway, even without the preflop push.
Was one of THESE hands..

i know. its just part of the thought process that you try to decide, does he have AA, KK or QQ or do I have to push here?

If I did the stop and go, he's calling with the flush draw and I am out anyway. It just gets frustrating when you make the right decision and lose.

Angry Thinking game

BEEN THERE DONE THAT. THINGS HAPPEN FOR REASONS, I'VE FOLDED SOME GOOD CARDS. BUT MOST OF ALL THE ONES I FOLD ARE LOW CARDS, AND WISH I HAD CALLED CAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE WON.

Didn't I alreayd reply to this thread once? I swear that you told us this same story already and I told you that I fold JJ that close to cashing unless I am the short stack. Someone else said Iwas a fool cause I was playing to caswh not playing to win...and I say hell yes I am playing to cash...I don't play 2 or 3 hour tournies to bubble out...cool though

Yes...and no...
I understand that you don't wanna throw away 2 or 3 hours, but if the tourney isn't a satellite with all places paying the same, then be ITM but very very short stacked is just play 3 hours for almost nothing because you win a few more than the buyin and only a miracle can help you to get a better position.
I play for the money too, but when you feel that you have a hand to double up you must play it.
I prefer play 5 tourneys and collect a really good prize in only one of them that be only ITM in 4 of 5.

Playing to win even in the bubble is playing for the money too.

Maybe a different approach could be done if is a special tourney (a very important one, like WSOP)

i have to agree with luzipher, maybe if you are building a bankroll, or playing the 100$ freeroll at full-tilt then you have a point wixx. no-one likes to be the bubble boy after 3 hours.

another thing is- your goal should be to win and i always see those weird moves like calling an all-in with AJ OR A10 off suit and wonder: "did this person play 2.5 hours just to give all his chips away for rags"?

but as luzipher sais- the "cashing" only is usually a few bucks more than the buy-in while the big money is at 1 2 3 even 4 places and look at it this way :

finishing 1st-3rd in one tournament will cover you as if you had to "cash" in god knows how many tournaments...

+there is no other feeling like winning a tournament

if it comes down to only a couple people left i need to beat to place, i usually try to sneak into the money...especially if im running low on funds and its possibly one of my last tournaments i'll be able to buy into.
