Default Good float

GOOD FLOAT

In this series of articles that look try pointing errors in the cash game players of low limits. And this article will not be different.
Well, as is written in the Poker Guide for Beginners MaisEV, the essence of the game is jogarmos the characteristics of our opponents, not our letters. Usually they are the least important. So it is very normal as we make plans to act in a certain situation without taking into account our hand. We will make a float (that is to call in a flop with any two cards with the intention of bluffing on the turn), or give a raise to flop in the air, or represent one hand that we have to play a hand of expulsarmos better, etc..
So far, so good. The problem comes when we have changed our thinking in the midst of hand because it appeared a letter very good or very bad on the turn or river. Many players do not keep the reasoning of the hand in that situation. They are tempted to play without taking into account its because of this letter reads. And that means that most times we do not extract the maximum money from our adversary.
Vamos a few examples. The first and simple, a hand that I saw on a blog a few months ago.
NL100 6 max - Stacks effective than 100 BB
UTG fold, MP fold
CO raise open, 4 BB
Hero BTN call in with ATo.
Here the call is calm because Hero has position and despite being in front of the open range to raise the villain, ATo is not the front range of call in 3bet him out of position. And yet, we would have to drop to a possible 4bet.
Blinds give fold
The reads are that the CO is a player lag (loose-aggressive) and hero image and has been playing as a tag (tight-aggressive) common.
Flop is J 8 4, CO provides a c-bet. Here Hero knows that his range is great. And its image is good for moves. Then he thinks about how a float and gives call.
Turn 9
The villain asks table. Now the work of Hero is only bet. And because of the reads, he vai lead to hand a large percentage of times that bet. But as the 9d completed several draws and he has to draw on 2 points after he decides to check.
River Xx
Vilão bet ½ pot and the hero gives fold.
This was only an introductory example of how to change the line of reasoning of the hand, because of a letter that appeared on some street, is very bad. All reads and images indicated that it would be the best bet in turn, but the 9 "shaken" the reasoning of Hero and did disregard their reads.
Changing the plan that we have to hand a letter due to very good or very bad is acceptable. But leave this letter that we get so much influence to disregard our reads, finally, is not the most lucrative decision.
Second example. We are in a situation of re-raised pot. Hero and Vilão players are lags.
NL200 6 max - Stacks effective than 100 BB
UTG fold, MP fold, CO fold
Hero open, 4 BB raise with 9 8
SB fold
Vilão in BB, gives a 3bet get 14 BB.
Here Hero has the following reads: the villain is lag, the villain sees Hero as a player in the last lag and orbits the villain is giving much 3bet the hero, both in and outside position of position. Thus Hero assumes that the range of 3bet the villain is 66 +, more suited connectors and various combinations of two letters greater than or equal to 10. Thus Hero 3bet decides to call in and use his arsenal of post-flop in line position against someone who is giving 3bet light on it.
Hero has several good lines for this type of defence, are able to make several good floats. Known to adapt to the correct street to float in a flop. Known to raise a pure bluff in dry flops. Known to push a good flops, generally low, and so on.
Hero gives call in 3bet.
Flop 9 9 8
Vilão gives c-bet of 2 / 3 of the value of the pot. Hero thinks a little push and gives overpairs wanting to be paid for. Vilão fold.
The fact of having made a full house on the flop hurt the reasoning of the hero. He could not extract the maximum range of the villain. The push in that situation would be a good line with overcards, as AJ or AQ because our fold equity is very large. But with a full house we must consider the best way to extract the entire range of villain and not just a party. I believe that the best line in that spot would influence the villain to put more money in the pot with air. So I would give a small raise in flop if the villain had already seen me do it with air. Or would a float giving bet on the turn, because that, the villain can throw another bet on the turn or make a check raise with overcads or any draw.
Let the last example and we discuss it the best possible float in a re-raised pot. Now we will change our plan, but not our reasoning.
Same situation in the second example. Only the hero of letters that have changed. We are in a situation of re-raised pot. Hero and Vilão players are lags.
NL200 6 max - Stacks effective than 100 BB
UTG, MP, CO fold
Hero open, 4 BB raise with Ad Qc
SB fold
Vilão in BB, 3bet purchase of a 14 BB.
Here Hero has the following reads: Vilão is the lag, the villain sees Hero as a player in the last lag and orbits the Vilão is giving much 3bet in Hero, both in and outside position of position. Thus, Hero assumes that the range of 3bet of Vilão is 66 +, more suited conectors and various combinations of two letters greater than or equal to 10. Thus, Hero decides to call in 3bet and use its arsenal of lines in post-flop position against someone who is giving 3bet light on it.
Hero call.
Pre-flop, and call 4bet push would not be bad. But only to call and jogarmos in position against a range that we are in front is much more profitable in my opinion.
Flop comes 5 5 4
Vilão gives a c-bet of 2 / 3 pot. Here the push is okay and certainly is profitable. But there is a line better. The float in turn giving check ago. Let's turn to several examples of behaviour and the villain.
Hero call c-bet.
Turn 8.
Vilão make another bet. This is the worst possible situation because we will have to give fold most of the time. But let's think well. A second bluff in a re-raised pot is very rare in games of low limits. Then we can give the fold smoothly. And the hands that make another bet on the turn by value pay our push the flop. So trying to float instead of the push to save money against us this range of villain. If we have reads that the villain would make a second bet with air, the push is better than to turn push flop. So if villain bet we will turn to fold most of the time.
Vilão gives check on the turn. The natural here is people apostarem. But making the bet on the turn our range is polarized in strong hands and air. As the game is not light the villain will give us a great fold equity in turn, then we face a check-raise all-in in turn a large percentage of the time. But the turn bet, anyway, is still somewhat profitable, but is not the best line. When the villain gives a check that is not significantly turn the best we have to do is make a check ago. Because so our range is reduced to marginal hands with showdown value, as low pairs.
River Xx
The Vilão bet. Now we have an easy fold. Because we represent showdown value in turn and still bet the villain in the river. + 90% of the time he vai have a strong hand. And I can say from my experience, which is very often the villain in this river bluff. The game is light and knows that he has no equity fold to a bluff. So if we bet he largamos.
The villain gives check. This is what happens in most cases. We bet a little more than ½ pot and villain vai to fold in most cases. I can say that I have used that line dozens of times until today, perhaps hundreds of times. And I only check / call river twice.
The float is very effective in re-raised pots. We will compare with the push. Basically, most of the hands that will pay our push flop throw in a second bet or wager in the river. And the hands that will give the push to give fold check turn and check / fold river.
Finally, we turn to another type.
Turn Q
The villain gives check. Here we have to bet. If we give check ago with Top Pair Top Kicker showdown value and we will have representaremos showdown value. So I always bet on that kind of turn that is not easy to read and to have a good percentage of air in my range.
In these two types of turn we have changed our plan in accordance with the letter. But not changing our thinking and not ignore our reads.

Very 'deep' post.

I think I got the jist of the point your are trying to make.

Maybe using paragraphs would make it easier to read.

This is complex and high level poker thinking (above my level) and requires your opponents to be of a certain standard and also the ability to be able to read your opponents and classify their playing styles and hand ranges.

I once heard a quote that went along the lines of:

'An average poker player only considers his own cards'

'A good poker player will also try to work out what his opponent has got'

'An even better player will also work out what his opponent thinks, that he thinks, his opponent has got' and so on......

I think your post is beyond the 3rd level!
