What's with the Props players???
I want to know why people feel the need to bring all sorts of props to the table. I understand have a small good luck charm or a card protector. But people like, The Croc, Humberto Brenes, that guy who makes balloon animals, etc....they get on my nerves. I think it's because without those things, they would never get any attention. They probably dont get attention away from the table, so it's their only chancew to get seen and noticed by people. I was in Atlanti City and this guy's good luck charm was his daughter's first stuffed animal. and the worst thing was he was sitting beside me, sat it on his stack and it fell on mine. It knocked my chips over and he just pissed me off. What do you all think about it?
Personally if its not over the top or encroching on other players space then I dont have problem with it. Like with that guy who knocked ure chips over would have pissed me right off. i'd probably called the floor manager over. Most of the time it can give an insight into their play by what they have. If they have pics or mementos from their family they tend to be more of an enjoyment player and tend to play ABC poker, or a complete luckbox like Jerry Yang was.
Card protectors are fine and as long as they aren't huge or offensive then I couldnt care what they use. Personally I use my watch coz the straps broke off and I can't be bothered to repair them so I just put it on my cards.
If the props etc get out of hand then you can ask the floor for a ruling on it. Some casinos and cardrooms I have used dont allow anything larger than you playing cards.
P.S This probably should have gone in another sub-forum, but if needed Bob will move it

Making The Wrong Moves At The Right Times!!
I really think that on the televised games it is to draw camera time so that you get more airtime, thus more money from whomever is sponsoring you. Unfortunately, there are people who don't realize that this is a marketing technique and decided that since it is done on tv, they should do it too. I suppose the upside to this is that if you do lose all of you chips you will never leave the table empty handed!
My friend has a little buddah, my other friend has his mom's ring, my other buddy has his old unit's coin, (Green Beret or some cool shit...) I have a silver dollar... But a Teddy Bear???!!! I sincerely hope you put that idiot on tilt...
