To muck or not to muck, that is the question????

I hope this isn't a repeat, but it is something I am kind of curious about. When you are playing online do you always muck your cards? Do you muck most of the time, and if so, when do you show, when you have a killer hand or when you have a garbage hand? Maybe you never muck your cards? What are your theories?

I tend to very on this. Sometimes NO ONE gets to see my cards. Sometimes I will show my cards to someone that has been playing well but has been behind in the luck department, just to show them that hey, I am not beating you by being a bully, I have the cards.

I am sure that everyone will very on how they feel about mucking so this should be interesting!

personally ive been on both sides. There was a time when i used to show some of my bluffs or if i did something crazy i showed that too, but now after some years of experience i think the best thing is to check the auto muck option. It really makes me keep focus on the game, because when u show a bluff the other player is going to start to chat with u and most of the time hes going to get upset and i dont want a mediocre player to start playing his best against me. So automuck forever !!! lol

sometimes i will show if the other person folds and shows what they are folding. but otherwise NO. i don't think it's a good idea to let the table know your folding aa or kk etc. they might think all they have to do is bet big and you will fold a decent hand when the flop puts out a bunch of scare cards.

Sometimes, when someones try to still my big blind and i've a trash hand (83...) i "show and fold" it... in order to gain more respect for my blind. When I bluff an opponent known to be an easy tilter, i show him the hand in order to gain more value for my big points. However i muck the hand nearly 95% of times.

You should never show your cards unless you have a very good reason to do so.

By showing your cards you are giving all other players information about how you played the hand - even if you want to show a bluff on the river, you are still telling opponents how you played those cards pre-flop, post flop and on the turn and river.

The only reason to show your cards is when you bluff a player who you may be able to tilt or if you want to lose a tight image that you may be labelled with.

Sometimes I will show my cards to someone that has been playing well but has been behind in the luck department, just to show them that hey, I am not beating you by being a bully, I have the cards.

This says to me that you only steal/re-steal blinds when you have the cards, therefore I am more likely to try to bully you than other players, and lay down when you play back.

i don't really show my hand whether i just bluffed or having a winner hand EXCEPT when i meet a frequent bluffer on the table. i sometimes bluff and show it.. just giving the bluffer his own piece of medicine!

I dont think you should do that, its a nice tool to use whenever you do want to change ur table image....and the difference is maybe a second or 2...........
