Rosso Poker Scam?

Guys I found this thread on cardschat and I thought some of our members would benifit from it. I do not have account here but others might.

"Those of you who read my first post on the new site RossoPoker read how their own rules had no method for paying American players (If you are a player who has been paid by them please post to this thread). I sent emails to companies they purport to be associated with them.

On RossoPoker's Website, they claim that one of the most respected international accounting firms is associated with their organization Price Waterhouse Coopers. I received this letter (unedited) from that organization. TELL EVERY PLAYER YOU KNOW DON'T PLAY THERE - THEY ARE A FRAUD!!!"

Dear Mr. Holt,

Referring to your enquiry regarding the statement on the website of Rosso Poker that PricewaterhouseCoopers is the auditor of the company named RTB Enterprises N.V. , I inform you that this statement is false and without any basis. We have contacted the director of the company and have demanded that our name and logo will be removed from their website within 24 hours.
Thank you for making us aware of this fact.

Thank you for the information. I have seen a lot of info for Roosopoker on various forums, mostly spam posts and I have been avoiding the site altogether. How many other sites have PWC doing their auditing?

I HAVE POSTED THIS ON EVERY SITE I AM A MEMBER OF, FEEL FREE TO POST THIS ON ANY OTHER SITES!!!!!

FYI - they claim to be in the Dutch Antilles

1. They claim to be in the Curacao Internet Gaming Association (CIGA) (http://www.ciga.an/) that companies
2. CIGA's sites members area is "coming soon"
3. CIGA's "members list" and does not list RossoPoker as a member
4. CIGA as an internet company they do not have a visible email for contact!!!
5. If they are in fact a member, RossoPoker is afoul of many of the guidelines GIGA's "charter" lists
6. Their bank of record the Bank of Valetta (BOV) says the are "investigating" but will not confirm or deny Rossopoker as a client due to "security concerns"
7. Apparently at the request of Price Waterhouse Coopers to remove their logo from the RossoPoker website within 24 hours - they have complied (something they would not do if they were in fact a client of that prestigious company. They have removed all external company "associates" logos from their website as of my last check which was at 12:36PM EST - 7/25/08

well I didnt have anything firm but I just didnt like the site - so I didnt fancy reviewing or recommending it

good to see the info coming up in all the forums

I know alot of forums tend jump at the next offer from a new site etc to get in on early business etc - but I'd rather miss the boat on the business side than jump to recommend sites that just dont add up ...

great that the guys over at cardchat have picked up on this - they too are very responsible

as ive said before there are plenty of good sites out there without rushing to new ones with no track record etc

I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only one who thought Rosso was a bit sus. I have another question though. I have already downloaded and played on Rosso but never made any deposits, is there anything I should be worried about besides them selling my email address to everyone?

I have tried unsuccessfully to log on to this site sent support 6 emails no response anyone else having trouble.

Cardchat is a great forum but this one is by far my favorite...maybe because it is smaller so easier to get to know the members.

As far as logging on to Rosso I have never tried. I would reccommend deleting it from your computer. Like ScrawnyBob said there are enough reputable sites out there to avoid getting involved with these smaller possibly scam sites, even the US players have options. The easy freeroll money is not worth the risk. Plus what is the big deal about winning freerolls on a site that has no way to pay US players?
