4kingpoker Take Over tournament

Borrowing an idea seen elsewhere would anyone be interested in a little fun league (no prizes unless Bob or Carbon want to throw any in)

The set up is we take over a scheduled game on Carbon, my suggestion would be $2 + .20 freezeout at 14.00 Carbon time on Saturday. I will keep record of where 4KP player finish and points will be awarded. If we do this over the same period as the next 4KP leagues this will run for around 3 months. Highest scorer over the season has huge bragging rights

There will be no collusion we will all play to see who finishes highest

I suggest the points work on top 10 4KP members score 10 for highest down to 1 for 10th highest.

This is just a general idea for now post here if your interested and maybe we can have a try out before the next league season starts.

I know that this idea is very successful elsewhere, but elsewhere it is played on PokerStars who are awesome, and tbh although I play virtually every day on the version elsewhere, I won't be playing it on Carbon because:

1) Carbon's software runs so slowly on my PC.

2) I still haven't forgiven Carbon for changing promotion terms midway through a promotion and not telling people, so all I currently want to play there is our team games.

I like the idea Neil, unfortunately i cant play mostly of saturdays unless is late (after 8pm E), any other day can be good.

yep this is a good idea - its something I thought about doing a few months ago

ie. recording the members results from standard MTT's on various sites and putting them in a league / leaderboard

I couldnt figure out an automated way of doing it without spending a fortune so shelved the idea

but I know ive seen other sites doing this - either so they dont have to add any cash and run their own games or in addition to actual private forum games etc

we could look into doing this with a couple of our main sites I'm sure

also if anyone has info on how other sites / which other sites are doing this PM me info so I can look at the idea again

I think this is a good idea, though I'd prefer it if we chose another site apart from Carbon. Maybe PKR, Everest or Cake are possibilities?

Great idea you all. Let me know what you come up with nb. I think the way to go with results is to say "you have to post in a thread your poker nickname when you have a good result". Someone could keep a screenshot of results and you would need to confirm your participation in the thread. I think thatd be cool little league. Maybe we could do a regular HORSE game???

Some good suggestions coming up I'm please people are interested, and I think it could be a fun league.

I suggested Carbon because all the regular players have an account there because we are already playing the TPT game but any site that holds a game of around $2 buy in at a time that suits most players would be great.

As NoWuckingFurries says the site I "borrowed" the idea from use Pokerstars and play in a $2 multitable sng this has advantages that they are starting all the time so you can pick a time and join a game. Fulltilt also offer small buy in multitable sng's. I need to look and see if any site offers a multitable horse game but I think not so many of us are comfortable with horse and there may be fewer members wanting to play.

Any suggestions on the scoring system would be helpful and it would be best to pm them to Bob as he knows whats possible within the forum program. I think from my point of view I would be happy to manually score this league while we see what interest there is. all I would need would be a list of players screen names at the poker room we chose.

There is online poker league software available free. Before I post the link though I need to ask Bob if its ok.

This sounds like a good idea. Just do not know if I can manage another day playing for the moment as my private live is timewise almost completely booked out.

Anyhow just let me know if the idea gets more concrete.
