Default Thoughts on tournament payout structures

Just wondering what sites have payout structures for MTTs that you like.

I've played a large tournament at Stars and a large tournament at Full Tilt recently that I have done well in, but, to be honest, I feel like the payouts weren't worth the time invested and the success I had.

For instance, last night, 2552 players in a $2.20 tournament at Stars. Played 5 hours. Finished 22nd. Only won $15.

A few weeks ago, played a $1 tourney on Tilt, 11,000 players. Finished top 250. Won $5. Five hours again.

I don't know. Seems like the payouts are way too tilted to first - the Stars tournament was $800 plus for first.

Where do you find structures you have liked?

hardly ever play games with more than 200 peeps. I figure why do that when there are plenty of games that run with money added and low fields and low buyins.

I respect 4K and geez they got great low buyin low field games with money added. There are lots more forums out there that also offer the same. I aint gonna tell u where they are. that would piss the scrawny off. But go look, google, lol.

Five bucks for Five hrs? forget that. support 4King and the other smaller forums that offer great low buyin low field games with money added

That's great for gettin started out fo SURE. You gotta find your niche. I would side with Villa on hardly ever playing the long games with even longer odds. They are fun to make a run in every once in a while... or play it as a background game and focus on smaller field games. As you observed its very hard to get your roll going in those types of games.

hey stix, u right. there are gaps in the smaller forums games, playing one game bores me. so at those times I will play in a large field ps/ft game. amazing how no attention ABC poker will get u along there, lol

And by the way, I'm a exclusive MTT player, so if u a cash player, wudda I know, lol

I usually only have couple hours to play, so I like to play sitngos. Cake network has the turbo 10 seat ones that pay 4 places. My fav. tourney's are def. the forum ones though, have to agree with that. I have same prob. with mtt's, seems they are top heavy as far as payout goes. Guess that's why you see such aggressive play once in the money.
