CLUBWPT POKER LEGAL USA but MONTHLY FEES

Trying out the trial run on clubWPT poker. ITs legal in the USA going under the sweepstake laws whatever that means, but is 19.99 a month but looks no buy in and looks to offer some interesting money and other prize.

ANY OPINIONS on this or another sites like this

hmm I think you will find the feedback on clubWPT very mixed

alot of negative feedback from memory I think people had problems cancelling the standing order

also just to make things clear for our US members (while this is NOT legal advice) it has been made clear by several well qualified people that ...

the UIGEA does NOT make online poker illegal in the US

infact the UIGEA specifically says that players cannot be held responsible, charged or prosecuted under the UIGEA bill ... it can ONLY be used against payment processors and possibly the sites themselves

state law MAY be a different kettle of fish - and this does not consistute legal advice ...

just bear in mind the US gov't would love to scare players into thinking the bill is something its not !!!!!

hmm maybe I need to start asking before joining things.

The states have some odd ball work arounds. I dont quite understand it but as long as its called a sweepstakes its not gambling but these sweepstake places are JAMMED WITH OLD PEOPLE, its making the news all the time since so many people are being taken for rides. They go under some premise that the winners are pre-determined so its a sweepstakes not gambling, SO i guess that how they promote this too. THE SOFTWARE APPEARS VERY BUGGY,

OH well Glad I signed up with the pre-paid card and not the real one.
