Default all games in this series are set at 9 payout

    hi

yep all the games in this series are set for 9 seat payout

which is one of the options for setting up fulltilt games, the other is to have their standard setting which for games with 12 ish would only be 3 places and for maybe up to 30 it would scrape to 5 places I think and only once over 30 would it get to 9 places

the reason all the games in the series are set to 9 min payout is two fold

    a) most of the active and established members have requested we have 9 seat payouts so that week on week in our more popular $2 buyin $25 added leagues we get 9 places paid even if we fall under the 30 players ... so its consistent

In many cases this is actually well bankrolled members being considerate towards those members with less bankrolls - they are here for the challenge and the bragging rights

    b) I set the same 9 place payout on this season because while I (and some others) like to play HORSE, Omaha etc and not just NLTH all the time ... We are aware that for alot of members this is new territory so buying into a small field where there is a pretty high chance of recovering 1/2 your buyin just for playing and making top 75% it makes it far more tempting to try new game variations

to be honest I would quite happily play upto $50 buyin games with nothing added if anyone wanted to pay private SNG's type size games or even heads up if I have time

there are also plenty of other members of the forum who play whatever bigger buyins and yet still come and play our tiny $2 buyins just to be active and part of the forum ...

We used to have a couple of members who (before retiring) quietly played big big nose bleed stakes both online and offline as their main games yet honoured us by playing our $1 games without even mentioning publically to the forum they play nose bleed away from the forum

personally anything less than a $10 buyin for a game doesn't get my juices flowing at all ... but thats not what the forum is about

When I first started playing (back in the days of pokerroom.com being one of the first) I played for 10 minutes on play money, looked at freerolls and figured they were royal waste of time and jumped straight in depositing on my card and only played $5 / $10 SNG's or more from the off

its only because its the forum games and people in the community have got to know each other that lower buyin games etc hold an appeal for many of our members - however those members with bigger rolls play in $2 buyins and dont worry about the small add-ons because they want to play friends and other members who maybe havent got a decent bankroll

the forum games are NOT about getting rich they are about running good value games that hopefully all members of all bankrolls can see enjoyment in taking part in

personally as I'm sure several members are aware I pretty much enter all games even if I'm giving away my buyin and dropping out last or near last

the flatter payout structure is to spread the added money and prizes out wider - its about the bragging rights and the fun NOT making max profit

like I said I will happily take on anyone (time allowing) who wants to play bigger buyin games if they like if trying to win money is their prime motivator for being in the forum ;-)

I'd also happily schedule up much bigger games (with zero added) on maybe a monthly basis if some of the forum would like it ... $10 / $20 / $50 buyins would all be fine

in fact bring it on I would love to play some bigger games

    cheers scrawnybob
