Ok, maybe poker is more luck. Was registered for OFC freeroll (rep. 4k of course), so busy I forgot till an hour in. Had to leave shortly after that, so had about half an hour to play. Logged in to see I blinded down to 800 chips. Looking for any decent starting hand to push, got K Q, and it won, doubled up to nearly 2000. Knew that wouldn't last long so still pushing with decent hand, got an A, pushed, no one called, up over 2000 now. Getting close to when I had to leave, so I got J 8, min raised, figured I'd push after flop, see what happens. Got 2 callers, flop is J 8 A. Now I'm trying to get one of them to put more in, so after 1 guy checks, I min bet, both go allin, I call, they both have an A, and surprisingly, river doesnt pair turn and neither hits kicker, now I'm over 8000. Right before I'm walking out door I get A Q, raise, one caller, A on flop, both allin, she has A J, now I'm over 16000 have to sitout rest of way, end up 50th, best finish in OFC I've had, only played half an hour.

Ya know madjek sometimes that you need. Ive sat out for a while and the minute I sat in 1st 3 hands AA AK KK I was like wow one of these hands are going to knock me out and all 3 kncoked me into the top 5 for a while so I just sat out for a while

Lately I dont know how many times Ive built a great chip stack and I even tell myself, "ROB you really dont neeed to get involved in any hands for a while" but damn it I cant resist and I cant stand when 4 hands later Im barely got any chips and my brain goes I told ya we didnt need to get involved. But really you keep thinking you got all this time but if you aint building somewhat all the time Its really hard to take these things

OFC TIME AGAIN and boy this was a ho hum experience. NEver really got going but kept getting hope spots until their was no hope went out like 162nd but really I was riding the bottom the whole day. One day you think youll be smart enough not to do stupid things in your game and the next day you start wondering how quick you will do stupid things in your game. The game is a definite mindfluck

BUt you know, maybe people are right bout online players being better or I dunno, there are some real good players at the card room, but it really seems like live hands seem to hold up better (but thats not saying I havent seen some hard beats too) but online it seems that someone always has it every hand (including myself) I dunno maybe it just a different type player and I cant put my finger on it. because I know they are all good which might be the problem. WHAT if they all SUCK and I think they are good. I just know i have been trying to sharpen up playing more online so I can hit the live cash games with my mind focused but I dunno live and online seems worlds apart different even though the are the same game. ANd of course these .40 bets online are $40 bets live so that definitely adds a little to the decision making and Im still have trouble with the age old question about spotting the sucker in 30 seconds or youre the sucker. HMMM I rarely know who the sucker is so that doesnt bold well for me

hee hee hee Awesome!! Probably actually an excellent strategy for OFC games. Will try this out in the next one! (in the Freeroll I lost to a guy with J4soooooted... 3bet pot pre... he calls OOP). In the buyin, with the small starting stacks & uber-fast structure I was over 3k, getting paid off on the few hands I'd played.. then looking for spots, picked up 77 with 12bb's.. MP raise.. I shove.. they call with 99 & I'm out I haven't had an OFC score (other than a min. cash or two) for a few yrs. now, lol.
