sit outs

After seeing last nights game spoilt (imo) by the amount of sitouts that were there i think it would be better if in future applicants to the home games were only accepted after a pre-determined number of posts.
I know that sometimes it cant be helped that you have to miss a game after regging but it seemed to me that most if not all those who were sat out weren't "regular" forum members anyway
I know there was restrictions about any winnings if you hadn't made 10 posts and that might be the reason why folk regged then read the rules and didnt bother playing but surely it would have been better not to have them regged at all

I dunno maybe its stack size or how long each level is, but it seems to take forever to get a sitout knocked out. I wish they could disappear if not play after 4 orbits. Dont quite understand it, not like a sitout is gonna get top 5 but it sure makes a game that should take 2 hours turn into about 3 hrs and 15 minutes for me and probably close or more 4 hours for PO and Indigo jacket

Gotta agree with both of u ...The sitouts didn't help what was a pretty good game with a nice structure.

I also got the feeling that some of the people turning up at our table with large stacks had been sitting with a lot of sitouts and profiting from easy and cheap blind stealing (could be wrong).

Sa far as I remember, on AP if some one sits out for more than about ten minutes they are eliminated...which is the way to do it for me.

Is it possible that PS offers this option Bob?

I thought last night there were fewer sitouts than we had seen in earlier games. There wasn't any at the first table I was at althought Tom was sat out a while he was in and out of the game so maybe trying to playw hile being distracted.

In one of the warm up games I was the only player playing and nearly doubled my stack picking up all the blinds before I moved and Joined Dan and one other actually playing.

for the first 30 to 40 minutes we had a new player constantly asking about the prize and how he would be paid. He need not have worried going out in 9th.

yep there are a few issues to address but not sure trying to restrict on the joining of home games is the solution

the info is in the locked area only now so theoretically non 10 post members shouldnt be able to join - but on a play money league I really really do not want to be taking up even more time that I need to work on the business / paying the bills on lots of admin

bear in mind the whole point of running the "play" money games on stars is to try and get as many active members (or back active) from both US and non US playing together as possible

otherwise we could just go straight onto buyin games on a non US site without any problems

but that would defeat the object

I appreciate the issue with prizes / posting was frustrating - I had to deal with it the most ;-(

the most likely solution I can think of at this point that would help sitouts it s to reduce the reg time right down to say an hour or even 30mins before the game ???

thats maybe not going to be popular with people I then get alot of PM's from moaning that they will be back late from work etc etc so they want to reg a week before and sitout and come in 10mins late etc

anyway thats my best suggestion at the moment
