Freeroll password(s)

ONLY A MORON and a LOSER would distribute them. What's the point?
Why would anyone give them out? I wouldn't.

It just makes it harder for the person giving them out to win anything. It isn't me.

no matter if you give it out or use it, it's wrong. perhaps they don't realize it or have minimized their wrong doing it can/will get you in trouble. you can lose your acct at the site/network and be banned by mass forums. is it really worth all that to play a freeroll you probably won't even place in? all it takes is a registration and a few posts to make it all legitamate. stop being lazy and do what everyone else has had to do. your not special and will no longer be tolerated!

I am a new member here and i was trying to play at cake poker for the free roll, but i could not get the password. I thought i had enough posts to play in this tournament. I am trying to go by the rules

for starters you have to have 10"quality " posts to get the PW and this post made ur 10th...but ur 10th post was 29 minutes after the tourny started.....so therefore you didnt qualify in that aspect....and admin has said that sfter the Pw is mass sent out there will be no last minute requests for it honored....but good luck to you in the future

Some people think they are doing their so called friends a favor by distributing passwords. I cant post or say what I really think about those people......they are sad individuals and make me sick..........

Apparently our forum leader was forced to send the passwords out later than normal (I don't blame him). I don't get them in time to play. And I'm noticing less freeroll and more pay-to-play tourneys. Thanks to all the damn losers that have given away the pw's to the freerolls.

i dont quite understand this comment the password is sent out before the tourny. how could you not get it in time to play? the only way you would not get them in time to play is if it was sent out after the tourny already started

ok I'll address the separate issues as they came up

post quality generally & JESSEODDO posts

ok so in the case of your posts JESSEODDO I spent the closing half hour or so playing delete your post tennis with you as far as I can remember - orignally you made posts that were rubbish at worst and borderline at best

at the time I started looking at them other members had already negatively voted on your reputation based on your posts - sufficient numbers of members voted to turn your rep red (meaning negative)

I deleted a load of them as they were not good enough for a new member and you continued to post in some mistaken belief that the system would issue the passwords automatically - it doesnt

currently the passwords get PM'd out automatically at least 2 hours before a game to those with 10+ decent posts (and unfortunately some that get through the net)

the new system will be a locked password area that only members who have 10+ decent posts and have been a member for at least 24hrs after their 10th post can access

in addition we will be setting the system up so that inactive members will NOT be able to get the passwords if they've just posts 10 (probably borderline posts) months ago and just sit back and make no effort to contribute to the forum - this system will mean that members will need to have made 10+ decent posts in the first place and have made at least 10 posts in the last x days (probably 90 days but maybe 60 or even 30 days)

this in effect means a new member makes 10+ decent posts - WAITS 24hrs and then can access passwords - if they dont post for 90 days then they wont have access anymore and will need to have made 10 more posts (or logically just stay steadily reasonably active so they dont run out of 10 posts made in last x days)

the reputation voting (only 50+ post members votes count) will NOT be part of the locked password system but clearly if you have a red or a grey block in the top right of all your posts - the higher posting members are clearly trying to say that members posts or specific posts are poor

password sending times

yes the passwords are being sent later (at general inconvience to me as it means I HAVE to be able to do it a certain time window instead of when it's easiest for me)

they used to be sent around 24hrs beforehand - to reduce password sharing its now done later - the latest will be 2hrs for the games

more buy-ins ... current series is unchanged

there has been NO change to the current season of games that have been scheduled - so 50/50 buy-ins to freerolls as originally specc'd

it remains to be seen what changes I make for the new season - adjustments have to be made on the formats - as I'm sick of freeroll passwords getting shared and also cannot just endlessly supply funding for games for existing (non 4kingpoker) signups to the obvious sites if very few of the forum will try new sites (signup via 4kingpoker) ...

Its not like I give signing up to sites a hard sell - but members cannot just view the forum as somekind of free cashmachine - neither being active nor signing up to sites via us ...

from the forum POV an active member is a good member - signing up to new sites via 4kingpoker is great but if members dont want to then they HAVE to make a contirbution to the forum by being active in the forum

although having looked at the stats - the contribution (though very appreciated by those members who do signup) % wise compared to visitor signups is so far out that the visitors for the most part are funding all the games anyway

so if we can get the passwords more secure there seems little point in reducing the choice and range of tournament / league games to signup only games - although there will be a few now and again as a thankyou to those members who have signed up via us.
