Default Party Poker - US Online Gambling Bill

this is the offical statement from Party Poker about the US online gambling bill / "poker ban"

    Party Poker Statement

"After taking extensive legal advice, the Board of PartyGaming has concluded that the new legislation, if signed into law, will make it practically impossible to provide U. S. residents with access to its real money poker and other real money gaming sites. As a result of this development, the Board of PartyGaming has determined that if the President signs the Act (the Internet gaming bill is known as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006) into law, the Company will suspend all real money gaming business with U. S. residents."

They seem to have gone a bit further than that.
Last night, I finished in 20th place in their "$250" Freeroll - considering there were 5291 starters, I was pleased. Would have been nice to pick up a couple of dollars too - but no, they didn't pay out a bean, to anyone.

if they freeze peoples accounts coz they are from the US what will happen to any money they have in the accounts, will they be able to cash it out coz that would make PP a fair amount of money. I wouldnt put it past PP to do that and take everyones money

    Default closed accounts

    hi

I will look into the situation with Party Poker

so far the information I have been getting on sites I've been trying to get up in the forums

see US gambling bill - poker site latest in the general online poker section

as far as I know they are all saying they will honour everyones balances (real money) that is

this as far as I'm aware includes party poker - I really dont think they will run off with anyones cash

some of the sites have sent checks / cheques - which isnt maybe the method of choice but they are paying out

As soon as I know a site is pulling out of the US I try to get the offical statement which generally has info on it of how they plan to payout etc

My advice would be once they have announced they are closed to US players then US players should obviously withdraw by whatever methods are available / advised

    hope thats a help
    cheers scrawnybob
