I would say that inactive accounts that have some funds in cost them nothing in the overall scheme of things ...

just think of all that wasted bandwidth all the sites use up servicing all those pointless play money games (and yes before anyone shoots me down I do think play money beyond testing a site is pointless)

while they will work on alot of players converting to real money and freerolls (nearly real money) there seems to be an incredible amount of play money games running - so their server bills etc must be huge and play money a sizable part of that

if you have an inactive account with funds in if nothing else that shows you are a real money player

as for the sites being able to earn interest on your cash - I'm pretty sure there is gaming regulation / guidelines in terms of sites keep your money separate from their money as they dont work in the same way as a bank who could have a run on them - so I'm not sure that they can leverage your funds in their site in the most obvious way we would think they would

at the end of it all they have plenty of their own earnt profit / money from running the games - but enacting this part of their T&C's seems a bit short sighted to me

I think a fee for inactive accounts is unfair. There is no fee charged to setup an accountant with Party (as far as I know) so why would you expect a fee if you go inactive? I thought it was a poker account, not a bank account!

This is the most preposterous thing I have ever heard. If any site did that to me I would fire them so fast and tell all my friends.

Good thing Party does not accept Americans. Let the rerst of the world have that crap.

Oh and I've never played there so I don't really have an opinion on Party Poker.

Try leaving a couple of thousand bucks on pacific poker without playing any rake games for a year, then complain about how they took .33 pounds from your party account. Sorry, but there are a lot of people out there who have it infinitely worse than you.

At any rate, maintaining a poker account is very cheap, but still, it's not free.

I have had the exact same thing on that poker site
They took off administration fee of 7(!) euros!!

I took off all the money i had on that account and PartyPoker will NEVER see my face there again

but come on now....in ur posts you say you dont like this poker site /you dont like that poker site....when in fact ur from michigan and most of the sites you mention don't allow people from michigan...and some dont even allow people from the good ole US of A

It's probably that they are cutting down on costs. If a person has an amount in and doesn't play for a while, they still have to maintain it as if it were an active account. There may be people that never go back there to play again for any number of reasons(laws change, death,etc.)

It is just a way to get inactive accounts out of their current files. Banks in the US do this all the time.

would be OK if it was a car garage, and your car was left there... car is an object.

would be OK if it was a bank, and you'd have to pay commissions... commissions we all pay.

BUT charging someone for nothing, especially when other online poker sites dont - is a total bs and personally i wouldn't play there just for that . not that i do anyway
