FTP is a good site and most ppl play there, but it does not hurt to try other site and you usally can find ones that will give you a starting BR to try them. If you dont like them dont play there anymore

the people are ok, its like anyplace online i guess good bad inbetween, theres a lot of decent players. in the end all you want is their chips! lol

If you are just starting out, I wouldn't recommend playing with your own money for a while (unless you intend to play in the 4KP tourneys - should they be played there). You would find at the lowest levels, there are too many players who think nothing of betting, calling, and raising with bad hands (donks). The same applies to their free-rolls with hundreds, or even thousands of entries - the bigger the site, the higher # of entries. But at least you would find out the type of players there (especially at the low levels).
If you are an experienced player, then you might be able to find good games, depending on your bankroll.
The site does have good software and lot of information available (eg. tips from the pros and challenges which are good for learning).
Personally, I prefer the smaller sites where there are fewer donks and not as many entries in their tourneys.
