well i've been lucky enough to try the new pkr poker site. very early days i think as the software is a bit slow and heavy. it's more like playing a ps2 game than a normal poker site but certainly has some very interesting features and, although not for everyones taste, i'm looking forward to how it will develop !

yep I think PKR is going to be a poker site all of its own - I dont think we can compare it to the others as its just not aiming to do the same things

I think the hands per hour may be alot less - but the experience alot more real

things like seeing when players look at their cards etc, tells etc will set it apart

maybe not the multitable money spinner for the high rollers and sharks but for average poker players and rec players this is going to be a great site IMHO

hope to get as many of you on board by the 22nd as possible - we already have 10 ish - get signed up for the beta testing and get your screen names over to me for registration for the after launch 4kingpoker freeroll at PKR

Just to let you know you can still apply for advanced registration using the link that scrawnybob posted at the top of this post. Let Scrawnybob know when you have registered and I will make sure you are in the next list of people to be invited to beta test.

Re the speed of play as I'm sure you appreciate we are in beta test and there are some things we are working on to speed up the game. That said as with any site you see for play money the raked hands are significantly slower as so many more players are involved in each pot. Even so there have been hand rates at +75 per hr in shorthanded games and +120 in heads up. People are obviously playing around more with the tricks and comments in the early stages too and this will settle down.

very fair points andy, nice to have you giving us updates on the site. i noticed a considerable improvement on the software speed on the first update. i'm looking forward to how the site will perform when you start with the bigger tournaments.
