Smile Something to work with ....

Well, PKR wasnt a strong place for my bankroll and the site didnt run any freerolls untill recently.

after choping off a few bucks from a 4kingfreeroll i could try to build it up.
i had about 4.68, then built it up to 7 then to 10, but blew it all in the microstakes.

then i won the 4kingfreeroll and had new 15$ starting bankroll.

i was playing the 1.10$ 10 handed sitandgoes first prize-5 second-3 third-2.... but was in a negative ROI in the end of the day, which made my bankroll down to 2.25$ and the scary part was to know, i wasnt gonna play any freerolls there and even if they did- who has the time for these stampades?!.

Anyway, i placed in a couple of these 10 handed SNG's as second and third, and suddenly discovered the 2.20$ 50 people sitandgo, 8 places payed....

there i decided to invest my last few pennys....

The first tourney was not so bad, but a very dramatic because i was really short stacked:
i had 300 when the blinds were 800/400 and antes were 75... as i managed to survive and bubble to 8th place with putting a final 25 chips for my last all-in hand with blinds at 1200/600 and managed to grab 5$ for my hard work.

the second tourney was one big disconnection but i was told at their live (and very good online customer support) that i finished 6th!!!!

and got another 7$ for that.

the third tourney was at my favorite hour 2:30 am, because PKR is still not pokerstars, to have 50 players ready near their screens in seconds.

PKR europeans are sleepy for some reason....

The game was better this time as i managed to get to the final 10 as the chipleader and win the tourney in the end + 30$ for that.

Now i have 45$ at PKR and its finally- something i can work with.

Default I like PKR for tournaments

hi

nice one - great progress report and some great results

I'm a big fan of PKR for tournaments as personally I really enjoy the software and the slightly slower pace and way its all dealt etc - suits tournaments but I prefer Carbon and others for cash games (but I think thats just the mood PKR puts me in - ready to sit down calmly for a longer session)

The interesting thing is alot of players didnt think they wouldtake to PKR (too slow, too much fannying around with avatars and noises etc) but now they have established themsleves as a very very credible site with solid medium size traffic and most people tire of using the talking / noise features excessively - its a great place to sit down for a good game

cheers scrawnybob

Yes Scrawnybob! i agree.

PKR is great for tournaments for me also. the feeling is right, the slow pace is making it more realistic. the noises of people talking and laughing are great because they may sum up the situation with a quick realistic emote, rathen than writing at the chat box and get distracted...

for those fellows who really overusing it- they have the ignore button, assuring you a quiet game from them for the rest of the session...

i also like carbon for cash games better (currently getting the second silver star ) bacause the pace of the hands is better and the software allowes you to open several tables at the same time, while PKR is more of a one tourney/one window site.

i think i can ohnestly say that this 50 people 8 places payed tournament is the best game to invest my money at, because my "training" is about long MTTS and cash playing, combining these two is making it perfect for me.

havent played their long MTTs yet though. how they are rob? have you cashed in them? how long do you have to sit in order to get to the bubble?

p.s anytime jeffsbabe, at carbon or FTP just whistle

Hi jacks,

great success. I love the software and the pace in the tourneys too.
I like as well how they show the bets on the side of the window like on TV.

Hope to see you soon at one of the PKR tables

Cheers snowfish

hi Fish, and all.

well after two days my bankroll stands at healthy 60$ and i really enjoy myself there, and that is most important IMO, to enjoy at the table.

im currently on a nice streak of about 8 sng's straight....

and off course i wish there were more 4KP games there, and cant wait till next one

(i purchased a new shirt )

Default PKR Multi table tournaments

hi

yep I've played a few of the MTT usually the $5 $10 or sometimes $20 buy-in ones with guaranteed prize pool

they have them pretty much every hour / hour and a half with a bit of an overlay

I've cashed in a somewhere around 30% but not big money ... the great thing I have to say about PKR tournaments is that they are enjoyable ...

the experience is pleasant and enjoyable challenge to stay in the game and climb up on the chip stake ... alot of sites I dont enjoy long stints at so I find cash games more suited

with PKR I find it constantly holds my attention and interest whereas some site I can lapse in attention and then loose interest and play too mechanically

I think alot of that is down the PKR creating anticipation and involvement - with the dealer announcing the new hand and the need to look at your cards it makes that connection with your cards and people really do start to think about whether they should look at their cards more than once etc

this does create a genunine similarity to live games - bizarre but true

I've had less chance to play the last couple of weeks or so but MTT's on PKR are where I've found my personal true reward of a challenge

cheers scrawnybob

Default good to hear its going well

hi jacks

good to hear your enjoying PKR for the tournaments - I'm going to check out the 50 seat MTT's as these sound like a perfect game for me also

not too many players but more variety than the 10 seat SNG's

as you've said its really perfect for tournament play as the pace is just right

at the moment I play cash games there again as I need to build up my bankroll after a couple of somewhat extravigant and bankroll blind $100 MTT's ... bit of a treat but not wise to do often

I've found that when the site first went live alot of people went crazy with the whole talking avatars thing ... it seems to have got to a sensible level now with as you said people adding a depth to the game using their avatars rather than the chat box ... an all round nice site IMHO

cheers scrawnybob

ps. yes we have PKR in the new Non US league and with 2 additional games over the 12 weeks ;-)
