Default Other side,,I hate doing the Donking... !!

Maybe I,m going soft in my Old Age. But when i make a misread of a players hand strengh and call his AllIn Big bet with a decent pair of JJ,s for example. And call his ALL IN only to see he had AA or KK and i hit tripps or some junk str8 or worst of all 4 cards flushing on board. I really want to appoligize because it has happened so many times to me and all of you players I know at some time.
Notice I said i had JJ,s or something. Players who sukk out with 3-6 suited have no concience at all. I take no comfort in winning a hand that way unless it happens to be against an abnoxious player who i dislike. This though happens to be a good site and I respect almost all the players here. Having said that I do feel bad when I win a big hand where I really didn,t deserve to win the hand.More so against good qualified players that you can find here at 4king Poker.
    Damn ,,

i never want to intentionally donk someone and ruin a good game of poker but if i misread an opponent and get lucky i am all smiles, this actually happened today while we were sitting together and you kind of called out the outcome, i flopped bottom pair with Q3 on a 10-9-3 flop and figured i would check-raise my opponent who had position on me. their early-mid position limp which i figured was an ace high/mid pair hand turned out to be J10 and i put myself in bad shape after the reraise got me pot committed. i rivered an Q, which felt great, but did apologize because i made a bad read. i didn't exactly enjoy winning in that fashion but i'll take a suckout over a loss any day. if your JJ cracks a better hand, good for you, everyone here plays poker and gets lucky/unlucky, no worries.

I don't think anyone on 4kp would begrudge you the win, they may curse inwardly a bit but I think we all know on here these hands happen.

Sometimes the poker gods are on your side and save you next time they will save the other player. I recall it's happened a couple of times when we have been at the same table. I think we are about even.

I enjoy the 4kp games because of the good play and although there are suck outs they are usually of the type of medium to good hand beatting a monster rather than a why did you call with that rubbish.

I understand what you are saying Rg, but players need to understand that is part of the game and always happen in both ways, thats why i always try to be cool when some one suckout on me and not say trash in chat, because i know will be in the other side later.

For make a example, yesterday in aced game one player push allin, everyone fold around and just me left, player only have 3 bb, i have 7-8o and 17bb and was already in bb, so cost me only 2bb to call, i do not know much the player so i think it and decide to call, player have AA, i make a str8 and put him out. Some hours later in the game in Doyles, have 10-10 make a raise, 1 caller, flop was 9 high, i push, the guy had me cover in chips 2 or 3 times so he call with A-K with no flush or str8 draws, still he catch the A in river and take me out, thats poker.

Some time back i use to say "sorry" and "gg" when suckout on some one, but some players get more mad when say that and start the trash talk, so now, unless i know the player, i do not say nothing and move on to next hand.

If you know the player he/she will understand, if not then is his problem not yours, if you do not know the player then why care.

Just play your game, if you suck out on me, bad luck, is ok, just do not get mad when i do the same, is simple.

In my opinion u should not have to apologise if ur call is clearly not a bad one ie if u have kk a players pushes allin u call he flips over aa he was also lucky to hold aa against a kk so if u hit k then so be it ...My point been ppl count outdraws as lucky but IGNORE the fact that just as much luck can be involved when a players has hole cards which just betters u and in that position in the game u have to call.

ie - jj call is not a bad call ... altho can be easy to lay down = no apology required
q3 hitting bottom pair then check raising = apologise then come round and clean my car as soon as u have cooked my dinner

Outdraws do not bother me anywhere near as much as a ridiculous call followed by an outdraw

    Wink It Happens..

We've all been in those situations Rg. I have mixed feelings when this happens. I have come to expect a different quality of game when I play 4king games. When I "suck-out" in the league games, I have more of a guilty conscience than when I am playing say, a freeroll. I have apologized a time or two for sucking out in a 4king game. But, overall, I am usually just happy to have won the hand and still be in the game.

I think there is no troubles with your moves RG.
If i understood it well, you been trapped, so that the misread is normal. And when you ever win the hand, then nobody could really complain about your move as the trapper succeed in his own enterprise but then gone unlucky. (I don't know if i'm clear there, lol)
I remember once i had AK and you got KQ and the flop comes with a king, and we were both AI. No need to say that you caught a queen to beat me.
But i wasn't upset there as i would have won the hand like 75% of the time.
This to say, we're not pros and we all deserve to do some bad moves from times to times.

When I suckout on someone, my response is "about time"!!! (to myself of course). Since I am the one who usually gets sucked out on, often by what I like to refer to as a suited donk, a little justice is to be savored.

Apologizing for a suckout is IMO no help. Most of the time, it's not sincere and does nothing to make the loser feel better. I have to believe the player is really smiling to himself and thinking "phew" or if he's a true donk, just laughing over another bad call that was rewarded. I'm not saying that you are not sincere, rg. Just commenting in general.

Sometimes I say "oops" if it was the result of a misread and not just a donk play. I will say sorry if it's a teamie and mean it.

I am normally really good about saying sorry when I suckout, No body hears it much cause It don't happen that often. Not sure if it helps or not but it's not really that I feel bad that they lost and I won it kills me to make a misread and mess up someones game because of a misplay on my part. And always correct the idiot saying NH to my suckout, that crap I hate with a passion. If it was a misplayed hand by someone that allowed me to suckout then that is there fault, ie. slow playing aces with flush and str8 possibilities or then fool min betting anything all they way, those I have to stop myself from laughing and really never feel bad about those wins, or loses when I do try that, not much these days.
