Thread: End of tournament luck

    Default End of tournament luck

Don't you hate it when you are in good position, made the cash, beat the bubble, down to the last two tables, then it begins....crappy hole cards after crappy hole cards. I was in this situation this morning and I counted 18 consecutive unplayable hands. The blinds chewed me up and that was it. It's like a faucet being turned off. This actually happens quite a bit to me....that and the "diseased suite syndrome" - where your pair of suits does not get flopped....for example you have two hearts, and spade, club, diamond flops. This happens so much that I would love to have someone sit over my shoulder during my play and let me know if it is unbelievably bad luck or normal. I doubt it is normal though...

    Thoughts?

That is normal, online or live. Some days cards just don't hit. It happens to me all the time online when I run hot early it fades fast and rage at the end, or vise versa. All part of the game.

I could have written that Get a decent start, get itm and then sit there and watch all the paint and pps in others hands while you get 62 52 42 72 94 64 83 offsuits then get 22 and 33 with 2 all ins in front of you. And the blinds are so high and with preflop raises every hand, its tough to speculate. And yes, the suited connectors stop hitting. Pull off a few bluffs here and there, but you can't survive with crap forever.

That's when you start believing in luck and not skill.

Being card dead has probably one good side, which is.... it will allow you to have more time to watch your opponents and choose a spot for less risky move, if that make any sense.

It is very normal. If it can happen, it will happen. All a part of this silly game.

Forgot to add, you put yourself to be in the money in 4 more hands, and they switch you to another table and you become a blind in two hands. Lose and then out of being ITM. You wonder what hit you. If they woulda left you at the other table you would be in the money because you would not of had to have been a big or small blind!
