Playersonly and Sportsbook to move to merge

News floating around the old interweb things today that PlayersOnly Poker and Sportsbook.com are transferring from the Cake Network to Merge by April this year.

That has to be good news for people who like Merge because PlayersOnly is supposed to be one of the biggest contributors of players to Cake and because of the sports book connection one of the biggest contributors of fishy player who like to throw their money your way.

Maybe this will be the tipping point for Merge and it may turn into a decent place to play poker.

I've also seen unconfirmed rumours that the company that owns PlayersOnly, Jazette Enterprises, has bought or bought into Merge. But where as the move to merge is confirmed officially the buy out bit is a rumour.

I might have to sign up to PlayersOnly because there is likely to be some special offers to players when they move over.

i had a players only account long ago...but i thought then they were on the microgaming network

Not sure if they were on Microgaming, I think they may have had something to do microgaming casino, but again not sure.

As far as I know they have been on Cake since 2006 and at one point only allowed players from the US and Canada, but I think they have now open up to the rest of the world. I'll find that out for sure when I try and register with them

you beat me to the draw on this one - I had heard that there would be some good news on the merge network front a while ago but didnt want to let the cat out of the bag - as I wasnt 100% sure on the sites involved

I'd got a bit more info earlier in the week but wanted to see if it all came to pass

Good news I think for Merge network on the whole and should add a good amount to the player numbers

Say what you want about Sportsbook players, but their freeroll tournaments are not easy and I have done better at Tilt and PS even with more players, so good luck.

My comment wasn't really aimed at Sportbook.com players in particular it's just that sites that have a sports book are notorious for having players that "like to gamble" therefore there are many players on them that do tend to throw their money around a bit.

those new players coming over from sportbook and playersonly will be fish ... it will be interesting to see how cake does as this is potentially a decent chunk of players added onto merge ...

I think with the addition of a couple of other sites to cake they will still do fine although the games may tighten up as the shark to fish ratio drops a bit

it's very definately the injection that merge needed

when I'd heard the rumours were confirmed last week definately think its good news

on the buyout / ownership of the network front and Jazette getting some sort of controlling interest - I dont think thats the case at least that wasnt the impression I got when I first heard good things were afoot

I guess is a good thing for ring players and maybe also sit&gos, at least sits going to get full faster, but for MTT is a lot worst to have 400-600 players wild games like cake network that to have the 50-150 players right now.

Well, for me this is not good news. There are already so many sites on Merge that I can't play all the games I would like to because you can only run one client at the time. I have enjoyed playing the freerolls at Players Only and Sportsbook. I guess they will be a thing of the past. Cake network definety runs better on my computer than Merge.

I do not have a PlayersOnly account I do have a sportsbook account.
When I try to get on doyle's, it says you are already logged in(but I am playing a freeroll at sportsbook) and it won't also let me on Doyle's at the same time.
So maybe Doyle's goes with the transaction???
