Thread: Bluffing in poker

note - new players are often bluffing way too often, (tournament play). It's pretty easy to pick them out >> the guy playing way too many pots, always seems to connect with every flop, cbets 100% of the time, or if checked on turn, loves to bet POT on the river when it makes no sense. Especially in early level SNG play, it seems their strategy is to try to take advantage of making big bluffs early in the game prior to opponent's being wise to their play.

Bluffing
I have been playing poker for almost 19 years now and you could count on one hand the number of times I have bluffed, That is inclusive of online as well as live play. something I do is always do is let the table know:
1"I don't BETTEM unless I GETTEM"
2. I show EVERY winning hand.
This lets them know that IF I am in the pot you better beware. By the same token if I play 2 hands in 90 min period I'm having a real good session

i'm not sure why people like to bluff so much. personally i'm against it, especially the people who like to show their bluff. i also don't like women, alcohol, and having fun.

i'd have to say as a rule, mini, that i never bluff...
and i have wondered a lot of times
what the hell are they calling with
i think if u have a good hand and raise without being prepared to see it thru u may not be on to a good thing...(sorry, a bit convoluted...but what i mean is...don't throw in a huge raise if you're not prepared to go all in...)
have seen loads of people raise, raise, raise
then when u call em all in
they fold...
follow it thru is the rule for me...
if it's no good...
fold it.
I'm still learning to do that...i'm still excited about poker...

I believe it is a reference to the fact that the chip leaders ALWAYS win the hand. And they all are aware of this well known fact and will also call your raise. Just my interpretation of this artistic and grammatically creative work.
