Structure or Speed of play?
I do think it was a good move to up the starting stacks. However, I'm not sure what was worse--waiting for track repairs at Daytona or waiting for the people in the Aced Tourney to fold their cards.
You have to love being the chip leader at the final table and only having 10 BB.
Come on folks speed up the play. And, if you are telling me it takes you the full time to decide to fold your lame hands, then quit poker--you'll never get it.Really?

Well some ppl are not as fast as you Tb

Maybe they have problems playing 2+ tables at a time.
Maybe they are old.
Maybe they're doing homework with the kids...
Or maybe they just don't give a fk0 = XP + (1 - X)(-LV + WH)

The different structures for each of the leagues make life intresting and I think it helps make things more competertive and intresting.
If players wish to take time it's their right to do so.Team UK Winners Full Tilt Poker Team Cup III

i had a player at my first table taking an absurd amount of time to decide, didn't bother me too much because of the enjoyable table talk. i agree with you on the starting stacks being increased, was a great idea sb, thanks. never cared for the structure on merge, i'm not sure speeding up the play would do much because of the blinds, only way to make the final table more playable would be to start with superstacks.

Well, Tidbit. Either the guy you are playing is on 20 tables or waiting for the tar to dry on the Daytona Superspeedway. Either way, you are screwed unless you are playing rush poker.
I was playing poker last night at a daughter's apt. Fortunately I was able to pick up free Wi-Fi on linksys and I could not believe how slow my table was. I could probably get back in time for my turn even if I went out and skated my short program. I had to open another screen just to make sure the volume was working, since not enough action was going on. Finally I wrote in the chat window why do you guys gotta play so slow? My message never went out in the chat window. My internet connection was disconnected. Doh
. Note to self, enter no tourneys while at daughter's apartment.
Internet connection not reliable.

Again today - First table at cake was great. People folded their crap without taking 10 minutes to decide, players were ready when it was their turn, we played a lot of hands and didn't fall asleep waiting.
Final table-omg. Every dam time it was a certain players turn - wait wait wait wait fold or wait wait wait all in.
No wonder only the cl had 10bb. No one cares if you occasionally take some time to make a real decision, but comeon. It's 72o - doesn't take 15 secs to decide to fold that. And it's not decision time EVERY SINGLE TURN.
The fact that you folded without running out the clock a few times doesn't make up for the dozens and dozens and dozens of times you didn't.
Maybe you're playing 27 tables, but not everyone is. Guantanamo Bay missed a good bet not making the detainees play poker with you.
True hell is being at more than one tourney with you and having double and triple waits.

I had a player at Aced on Sunday ask every one at the table to stall when we were hand-by-hand. They proceeded to let the clock time out while the other table sat and waited of their table to finish the hand.
I guess Ron "tater salad" White was/is right.
getting to the FT and the chip leader having only 10 BB seems to be a common theme in these team games.
Personally, I believe that the games have been ruined by making every game here a team event.
Get rid of these horrible team events! Or, at least limit the team competition back to just one of the leagues.Really?

Well there are 2 diff subjects here. One is taking up the clock on practically every bet and that wasn't newbies.
The other is someone being clueless about hand by hand play.Last edited by Terminal Frost; 03-11-2010 at 03:16 AM.
