Default petit complaint - y so effortless

    Hi all,
watched the end of rounders last night on bbc in uk how embarrasing is the final hand???? for those who do not recall or have not seen matt damon is playing john malcovich who is a poker guru in the film

    Blinds 50 / 100 $
    Matt Damon Holds 8 9

Matt doubles blind 200 malcovich calls

    flop 6 7 10

nuts .....damon checks......malcovich bets $2000 into a 400 dollar pot

    damon calls

turn card 2 damon checks.....malcovich bets pot

river A Damon checks malcovich pushes allin and is called....u never see his hand i dont think

But how effortless and ill advised is that hand he said after river "u miss ur draw"....who is calling 2000 in 400 pot on a draw its obvious damon has nuts also not 100% but think damon acts first pre and post flop....heads up i believe this is never the case.

Felt i had to vent i was burning up in side my face went red i had to box to relieve my tension and anger ..... i am still off work since seeing and have appointment with counciller this week hopefully with time my pain will ease but i just dont feel like it will at the moment i just need to stay strong and hope i never see rounders again. i have no doubt that with support of loved ones i will be strong again one day.

Have u ever seen a badly advised poker hand on film whichs makes u think does not one member of the staff on the movie just say hang on thats ridiculous???

LOL, thats my biggest problem with movies and tv shows, its like they don't care if its believable to people who know anything about the subject. I think Hollywood thinks we are all a bunch of morons who will believe anything they are selling. Sports movies are the worst usually, with unrealistic scenes and scenarios. Just saw a comedy where the main characters needed to make some money fast, so they read a book on counting cards for BlackJack, and went into a casino and won a bunch of money, never losing, like counting cards makes you win 95-100% of the time, when we all know it just tips the advantage your way, which is why you need a big money person floating around playing big on advantagous tables. My wife watches soap operas, they are even worse!

    Mike, should've played those Kings.

Also, you need to remember at that point in the movie John M. was on tilt because Matt had figured his tell (yeah a tad over the top) and called him out on it. Not saying the movie is the greatest poker movie of all time, but it was entertaining and there were some other scenes that had better poker (like the judges game).
