Default She called with queen high?

I was at the Final Table on Full Tilt Tuesday night in a private trn. with 61 players and a $5.50 buy with $500 add to payout and bubble boy and winner got their choice os FT gear as bonus. We were down to 6 players blinds 500/1000 and antes, I had little over 9k. I'm in the cut off and shove with King high and eveyone folded and big blind with queen high calls,we both missed the flop, turn and then the queen came on river. The only reason why I can think she called was she was the second shortest stack and had to gamble. I was happy with her call but obv confused and disappointed with results. She went on a heater and ended up winning the trn. Glad she put my chips to good use!! - Dave

P.S. wondering if anyone here would of made that call or just her? btw I had a very tight image tjroughtout the whole table and was at each others table most of the trn.

I believe you answered your own question in your post. So, I will cut and paste then add what I think of your play.

6 players--blinds rolling around fast500/1000 and antes--blinds and antes will soon end this
had little over 9k (less than 10 BB-which is a SS yourself)
I'm in the cut off -- half the table left to act big blind with queen high calls--she was the second shortest stack

Everything here tells you that she will call in the BB if button and SB fold. You should know someone is going to call you. Before seeing the cards, did you really want anyone to call? If someone calls, you are not a huge favorite and most likely dominated. I would guess she has 5 BB max with 1/5 of her stack invested. Hell yes I am calling.

And, since you just said King High and didn't post the hand history, this makes me believe it was King rag. My guess is that both the Queen and the second card she holds are higher than your King's kicker. If I have a card that's coordinated and both cards are live, I really like my hand vs your holdings.

A hand history would really help here. But, at this point there is other information from before this hand that might lead us to why she called. What have you been doing to her BB ever since you made it to the final table? I am not going to remember what every body has been doing at the table. But, I guarantee that I will remember who has been raising my BB every time!

    GG and GL!

I think everyone agrees with the call. Knowing she was short stacked and already invested in the pot as BB. Also with the size of the Blinds and the ante,s I think you should anticipated the call tbh. As you stated you were the 2 short stacks. You often see the short stacks go head to head in that situation so 1 player gets back in the game,It was time to gamble. Agreed it couldn,t have been all that easy a call however.

    Default thank you

thank you for all the feed back. I did have king rag so it was about 60% to 40% race. felt like it was the right move at the time, thats why it's called gambling and not winning!! I personally felt that i could not have made the call but thats just me. thanks again- Dave
