Default This is why I love poker!

As many others have written on here position is King! But really and also some have written on here also there is so much more to consider than just choosing between position and what pkt cards u hold as just being 2 schools of thought. Especially in MTTs where the structure and to me almost as important is where you and where your opponents are stack wise who are in that hand and at what point in that tourney as related to the blinds and how fast paced or how fast the blinds are increasing. Especially if you are short-stacked or got drawn out on or rivered etc and took a big hit to your stack and your starting over. To me I am looking at both position and what cards i hold as to when I shove/or a big raise to rebuild. Its not like in the beginning where you can wait it out as time can become your toughtest opponent as you get blinded off more and more at some point you have to shove with the best 2 cards you can get. When you are trying to avoid getting to that point it is almost a fine balance of pecentages to consider when your are looking at what 2 cards to do this with and in what position especially in mid position with 2 or more players to act after you. Tough calls get tougher when faced with your tourney life!
So many thing to consider and so many different scenarios but that is why I love poker!!! Ace

Typically, the player in position in a hand can guage the hand strenght of the others to act before them and use the way the remaining players play to their advantage to determine how to act. Position is king when you have a great rad on the table, but I would reccommend having a hand though in the event you run into a spot where a remaining players makes a play at you or if a early position player makes a play as well. As with anything in poker, use position wisely and cautiously.
When at the tables, play for the love of the game and show respect for your opponents.

I posted some of this in another thread, but it is more fitting for here
    .....position is the most important

    played CarbonPoker $10 MTT $1500 prize pool (I took down 8th w00t w00t)
here is the list of top hands that I had played, as you can see I played them mostly from late position
I had many other hands in early position that some would consider peeling off a flop, the more loose aggressive players would even raise hands I fold. Exercising pot control, Slow Playing, and some trapping style poker can pay off. Most importantly, it allows you somewhere to fold too.

Really good article on 4kingpoker, the first 2 paragraphs I hold to heart.

    Losing less IS Winning more

Winning poker is not just about taking down the big pots and stealing the blinds. Winning at poker isn't about only playing when you hit premium hands.

Many players conveniently forget the big hands they lose or put it down to bad luck - and this is a huge hole in alot of players games - Losing big hands costs big cash.

I have only read a bit of this post. Someone said they don't play position much in earlier post, only late in the game or something... I agree with Assistanc3, position is very important. Some people may underestimate how important it is... But when you choose to play in late position, you get to see how everyone plays, before the action is on you. And when the flop just doesn't hit you, you can get out, for less than having to fire a probe on the flop, because there are people after you yet to act. I would say that the earlier the position, better your hand should be. It is not wise to play things like A-rag suited in early position in my humble opinion. Anyways, I have rambled enough. Peace.

I believe that no matter what kind of cards to you have as long as you have better positions. You can surely win. You also need to be smart so that you can win.
