Slow-playing aces a MAJORITY of the time seems like a recipe for disaster. The more players in the hand, the worse your odds get.

You're 80% to win vs say JJ, add a third player with 76s to the mix and your odds drop to 60%, add a 4th player with AKs now you are 50% to win.

Depends on gut instinct as to which way to play pocket A's. But generally pre-flop raise is the best outcome.

    Default both and it depends

    hi

cant really add my full thoughts on raising or slow playing aces to the other thread as I'd not explain myself unless it was really long

but IMHO (for me anyway) in some games I might slow play aces alot and in other games I wouldnt even think about doing anything other than raising and in other games I would mostly be thinking to raise and re-raise and push and push with aced

so IMHO I dont look at is a only slow playing aces occasionally (although that can be ok too) but more who you are playing ...

that is to me the deciding factor

if the table is generally ALL wild then I'm going to push for value and also for isolating one player ... and AA should pay off everytime pretty much if mostly mug players who just want action action action (think like a very bad drunk home game)

however if the table is full of nitty / "Ive read all the books" players who "spot" AA raise a mike away then that is exactly when I would slow play AA because you cant extract max value raising

youve got to do it trapping

however you still cant buck the odds so if it turns into a family pot you have to see that coming

anyway that would be my answer -

I would slow play stong hands the majority of the time in SOME games & not slow play strong hands the majority of time in other games

    cheers scrawnybob

Slow play Aces when you want (have to) balance your raising range so you don't become too easy to read, hence exploitable. But this only applies to high limits on-line, probably 200nl+
So if you play lower and not raise AA pre flop you're just Losing Value! So you're not tricky doing so, u're just being silly

All hands are "Situational, it just depends on the game and the players."

I will raise AA 95% of the time. Why let limpers out draw you without paying for it.
You can lead a horse to water, but a Donkey will chase you to the river.
