Poker table ratings...

Someone recently said I was negative at bodog. This bothered me so much, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. I looked at pokertableratings.com, and it does in fact show negative.... But, that site didn't have one result for any MTT I ever played. How good is that info if it is only cash? I have cashed in many tournies, but to note the best 3, $486 ($33 buy in), $333 ($7.70 buy in), and just a few hours ago, $150 ($3.30 buy in). Just with those 3, not counting the many times I made the money (but not the big $$$), that is around $924 PROFIT, minus the 330 or whatever it said on pokertableratings.com. I posted screen shots of two of these wins on the forum, (and for the big $486, I posted in a thread, bean wins at bodog I think, with the tourney # also, so anyone can look it up). I just want to know, are these stats only for cash? I have a serious leak in cash obviously, but I know the real scoop. How can I be negative for more money than I have ever loaded on to bodog in the first place? Maybe that is why I get sooooo many calls on the 2c5c, people think I am a fishy... glub glub. I think I am just going to quit playing cash completely. Some dude was talking trash on the 2c5c table, and I looked myself up... I don't know why I even care what people think, but I wanted to set the record straight. Peace.

Sad part of those tracking sites is they allow you to purchase hand histories of other players and stuff them stats into other programs for when or if you meet up with them at the tables.

Thankfully sites on the Cake Network don't support cheating as Cake Network allows you to change your poker table player name preventing the trackers from getting a fix on your hard work and effort..

Well even if it does track your entire game, I was not able to find any MTT results on myself, just cash. And I did notice you can purchase HH from there. Knowing this, I kinda am all for the idea of "anonymous" poker. What is the cake network? What sites are on there? I don't know anything about it...

Cake poker is the headline poker room on the network then there are loads of skins (rooms that use the network) Doyles being one of the main ones. Here are links to Bob's reviews of the sites.

For what i understand that site only give stats for cash (ring) games.

If want to search for your Mtts or S&G´s stats try sharkscope or topsharkpro.

either way any site that allows someone to buy the stats or HH of another player is wrong and shouldn't be allowed in my opinion. If you want to know my stats and tendencies then play me or pay me, don't read up about me

I agree - I think the HH selling sites sail quite close to the wind in terms of violating some poker sites T&C's but so far they seem to be tollerated by alot of sites too

personally I think getting mined HH from a 3rd party is a step too far

I've also previously tipped on the idea that it might be a violation of personal data - but that is just a thought and not proven or anything

ok I guess if you really want to pour over hours of HH of games you have played and players but as mentioned before the anon tables thing and name changing is directly as a result to try and combat this

I think from memory on PTR its only cash games (although maybe on subscription you can get more info) then there is sharkscope for SNG's and another one for MTT's

I'm not going to link to them all the time as that just helps them ;-)

when they first came out I think alot of people thought wow this is useful - and it is if you just want to check on the odd players stats now and again - but if your using it wholesale then its just too much of an advantage afaiks

this is a prime prime reason to play other sites ... ie. not pokerstars or fulltilt where all the nits and "technically brilliant" players hang out more

just look at the % to the flop rates on the top 2 and they are getting tougher and more nitty all the time ... there are still fish obviously but the sharks are well armed and so everyone is more able to spot the fish and also each other

playing smaller sites that focus on sportsbook / casino type customers bodog / 888 / cake / merge etc and you will find the games much easier to beat which is far far more profitable than getting rakeback at a nitty room like fulltilt

yes you might be able to access stats for bodog but I guarantee that most of the HH action and nitty datamining etc gets used by players on pokerstars and fulltilt

however I DONT want to see any members using PTR type data in the forum to berate or belittle any members ... that will result in an INSTANT BAN (most likely permanent)

(its fine if member posts their own for discussion obviously)

as an asside (I mentioned this before too) on PTR I think I am probably in the hole for around $3k (maybe more) on the fulltilt stats - but this tracks the games for the last 3 years or so basically missing the years before when I made a nice profit on fulltilt and only showing when Ive played totally rec / totally bad poker (which is all I have time for at the moment to have fun / let of steam / play well then blow it all in a big obviously stupid hand ... it also doesnt show other sites to get a full picture

I would guess now between blowing alot on lazy play cash games on fulltilt, starting out at pokeroom as a keen learning but early losing SNG player and somewhere inbetween making plenty of nice cashouts at smaller sites where the cash games (and tournaments) have been and still are juicy ... I would guess I am a break even player (probably)

this is the other thing worth bearing in mind ... 90% of players are losers (admittedly many are close to break even players) so that only leaves 10% in profit over the long term

given that in forums most players will tell you they are winning players or at worst break even players ;-) ... no I am really break even or marginal profit ... honest ;-)

My point is this ...

Alot of players are prone to saying they do better or pulling other players down to make themselves look less bad ...

so DONT let other players get you down by pointing out your stats on this or that site especially if YOU know they are wrong or not all the picture

DONT feel you need to prove to everyone your a winning player or not a losing player

DONT set too much store by the stats you can access - they are all flawed in one way or another

DO look at your own bank account / poker account and know yourself where you are + or -

POST your wins / post your losses if you like but

as a general not PLEASE DONT post other members stats or abuse members about their stats in the forum just to gain the upper hand or pts or whatever - its a bit childish and also we are all here to learn, share and chat not to bitch, moan and poke
