Never Heard Of This Term Before??

I've been watching a lot of High Stakes Poker on youtube.com coz i cant watch it on tv and term keeps cropping up which i have never come across before. The term is straddling, someone seems to pitch the idea at the table and then they seem to argue it over (usually the mouth being the loudest, with Negranu chirping him, which is always funny) I never seem to notice a difference when the round is played. DOes anyone know what it means??

I have also heard this term. It sounds kind of inappropriate for poker.

According to this poker site: A Straddle means forced raise. Maybe straddling is raising to scare your opponents

Of course Negreanu always hates it when someone is raising and re-raising causing him to fold, esp when he feels the guy is most probably bluffing. he can be a sore loser that one.

Its done before the cards are basically dealt--and its done by the player to the left of the BB--All it is ,, is a blind raise--usually done on a limit table

Its an extra blind posted by the player to the left of the big blind all players have to agree to have it. it's supposed to force the action.....like it needs forcing on high stakes poker!!!
