    Default BRM question/suggestion

For those of you who like to play tournaments instead of cash games (like myself), I've just (I know I'm slow) thought of something and have just begun to try it. Too often I build my br up somewhat (1-200 dollars) from usually 10 or $20 playing 5 dollar sng's, then start mixing in $10 ones, then I'll start playing $20 when I get to 200. As I move up it seems the number of players that make a lot of mistakes dwindles. At lower levels it seems the table is down to 6 from 9 pretty quickly but at $20 level that usually seems to take a lot longer. Anyway, my br usually drops, I no longer want to play at lower level, and my br drops more. My pt to all this is instead of moving up, I've decided to try to start multi tabling. I've had trouble doing well playing more than one table in past, but am going to work on it slowly. Instead of moving up, I'm trying to play 2 tables at once instead, sticking with $5 tables a lot longer, eventually I'll try 3 and 4 tables, not till I'm comfortable with 2. Seems to me this is better brm and will help with variance, plus skill level. My overall pt. is instead of moving from $5 to $10, I'm playing 2 $5 games. I'm still playing $10 at a time, just staying at lower level. Probably something I should of been doing before. I've noticed that players that seem to play tight and are always in it as bubble approaches often have multiple games being played. Is this sound thinking?

Try to cool it down. I know you will improve as time passes by with the help of constant practice and determination to win.

Not a bad idea to multi-table at one level, especially if you don't feel comfortable or aren't successful at the higher levels - just wait until you are ready for the higher levels.
I have noticed that the $1 level has a few donks, the $3 level is better, and the 5$ level even better still, and so on - however you must also pay attention to your bankroll and play within your means - ie don't play $10 games without a sufficient bankroll (eg. at 5%, you would need a $200 bankroll).

PS: I have no idea what the other posters with < 10 posts at this point are saying - LOL

But now I see Bob has deleted them.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

I think multi tabling is a good idea. I personally have problems with more than 1 or 2 tables, but I have played against a player who plays at least 2-4 (so it seems). He is the rock of Gibraltar and only plays stone nuts. I have seen him play maybe one or two hands, he gets up and coasts to a win. He only plays $3-$5 double up sit n gos. Every table I go to he is there. He must play for hours every night and he cashes in 4 out of 5 (it maybe better).

    Good Luck in your quest!

Maybe you could try, when reaching the right amount of $, to multitable 3 $5 and 1 $10 when you'll feel confident enough to multitable different level.
But you should mostly stay at the level your winning money if somehow you don't win at higher levels.

    Keep it up.
