I Find Usually When I Flop A Set , I Like To Come Out And Bet Big, Because On Most Occasions I Lose My Set To A Flush, Does This Happen To Anyone Else?

Default sets - playing trips

hi FAT

I always adjust how i play with a pocket pair with what hits on the flop and i always think u got to be worried about getting the possible flush draw out of the way

especially if you've hit middle or bottom trips - you could be in trouble to higher trips or an over pair getting lucky

if i hit trips to a mixed board i still play it hard but more so if theyre are 2 suited cards

then again the classic in poker - it depends

if im up against a really good player and ive got trip 6's and ive got duped into calling a preflop raise i might start to think about laying it down seeing all picture cards or several sets of draws

i love it when im on a flush & straight draw with high cards - lots of outs and lots of money if it hits

generally - play trips hard and take the sensible cash and dont get greedy and regret it

joker

what i'd do is raise big on the flop to weed out flush/straight drawers, as you said before. unless you've got say bottom trips, the chances of them having mid or top trips are very low. low enough i'd say, to almost be counted out. chances are you have the best hand with trips on the flop and you have to make everyone pay to see the next card because you can count on them hurting you, unless you luck out and get a lower pair on the community. that is my 2 cents =P

I only slowplay them when there isn't a flush/straight draw on the board. If there is a bet enough to give anybody on one of the draws improper odds to call.

If there are str8 or flush draws I'll normaly bet to try to force them out. If it's in a tounament and I'm short stacked, I might slow play it hoping to double up even if there are draws on the board. If there are no draws and there's a reliable agresive player in the hand I'll slow play it. Otherwise bet it on the flop.

Good answer, I agree with ya THplanes !!!! I push it all in if 2 cards flush on the flop. I have been beaten so much lately i have lost all my nerve !!! But if your short stacked and the big stack has has a 4 card flush your not going to move him off it anyway !! So many variable situations, stack sizes, Size of the Blinds, etc.
