Say I have the winning hand after the flop, 2 pair with Ad10d in my hand and Ah,10s,6C is the flop. I raise 600 after me thay go all in. I am looking at the board thinking what can they have, Maybe a pocket pair but they didnt bet them, so I think about it and decide to call their all in. The cards turned up they have Kc, Qc. I have the hand won. Turn is a 2c, and river is a 7c, they suck out and win with a flush. My Question is after the flop why would they go all in with nothing? Maybe a gut shot straight draw? And How can we as players win aginst this kind of dumb play? Any Ideas on how get around this kind of player?
Thanks
Shumla
See you at the tables
You don't want to get around this type of player, actually you'd want to hunt down this type of player. While the hand you mentioned is definitely a suckout it is only going to happen about 2-3% of the time so you're gonna win this hand almost everytime. I have notes on players like this and look them up when i go to play cash games and wait to sit at their table because in the long run if they keep making those type of plays I'm going to win their money and most of the time make up the money I lost to them on the suckout and usually more.
Keep ya head up and keep playing the way you are and things will even out. Just don't go chasing your loses because thats when your game begins to suffer.

though i think that this play from your opponent was stupid, I might back him up a little bit
he wasnt going all in because he had a draw, he went all in because he might have thought you were gunna fold, but I wasnt at the table so I do not know this for sure, to me it looks like a bluff attempt gone wrong.
play doyle brunson or someone who has never played cards ?
hi
Dazzler is 110% right
whilst you've been unlucky in that hand - on that occasion you should not be trying to avoid hands like that or players like that
think of it this way -
who would you rather play and who would you think your going to make more money off ?
a) doyle brunson
b) someone who has just started playing / gambler who can afford to lose for the thrill of it
whilst I'd love to meet Doyle Brunson (fingers crossed I will be in October) I wouldnt expect to play and beat him - therefore I am the fish in this
playing gamblers / learners / players who dont want to get better / cant be bothered to get better is definately where players profit is - they make more mistakes - which is to your benifit -
of course they will get lucky occasionally but they only have luck - brunson and other good players have - cunning, skill, knowledge, bluffs, semi bluffs, aggression, experience and well tuned senses
find the fish / suckers everytime - the more at the table the better
hope thats a help
cheers scrawnybob
