Well ive been reading this forum for the last 2days, ive been a fairly decent poker player just above beginner but not over average.

Ive been reading Dan Harringtons first book volume 1 and reading tips of this forum.


Basicaly ive been in 2 tournaments in the past 2nights.

firs was play money out of 90 people came 2nd (i could of won it but it was 6am i had to end it and called all in with AJ. I was chip leader twice his.)


tonight well it was going ace out of 900people on a free roll, basicaly i got unlucky i got called all in just after the Flop i had AA the flop was something like 24A, Im on trip Ace's thinking this is deffo my win for about 10k extra chips i was already about 10th out of 300 people at this stage.

He shows 35 vs my Trip Aces.

Turn card comes 10, River comes 6.............i was devastated id lost to a all in call just after the flop with trip aces.


This basicaly knocked my stack down from around 10th to about 100/300 people.

After that i was getting really bad hands and lucks in the end i decided to go all in with A,K to make or break me and lost to a J on the river.



What im trying to say is thanks for the help etc and would jsut like to share my story with ya all!


And ill remember the moto for next time DONT GET BITTER - GET BETTER!

sounds like you have a couple of unlucky beats - dont think anyone would fault you for going with tips Aces even on that board - he had the only thing that could trouble you - just unlucky

Calling an all in heads up with AJ isn't usually a bad thing

About the trip aces, that's just unlucky. As long as you get your money in when you're ahead you will be a winning player

More people lose with AA prolly more than any other hand.If I had thought someone would call,I d went allin before the flop,you must get those 3-5 players out!!!..flopping trips aces is xtremely hard to fold.Ya shoulda bet enough to get the small hands out.Ideally you needa go headsup with a slightly lesser hand than AA.

I think a lot of people losing with AA more then any other hand is a misconception. It obviously stands out more and I believe that is the reason why so many people think you lose with it. Really, so many people (if played correctly) will dominate poker tables with AA.

That may be true,but if you get AA,you must get the low hands out with a substancial preflop bet.
