Default strategy for playing in freeroll tourneys?

I enjoy playing in freerolls for a challenge but always min of 2k people playing. I usually try playing very tight at first but always seem to get beaten with the strong hands. Guess you need to mix up starting hands even early in tourneys huh? Any advice on such situation?

U only play freerolls with more than 2 thousand people in it ?? why ?? those are the toguher ones.

Well i used to play a lot of freerolls and my tips are.

On the first hour only play premium hands trying to win a lot of chips, u should have more than 6K before the break. For example if u have AK and the flop is KK8 id go all in because somebody is going to call with a weaker K.
While u are on the first hour dont try to bluff never!! those donks are going to call with anything. Most of the time ill be watching some clips while playing.

When the second hour starts i start concentrating on the table, i wont try to bluff many pots, because some donkeys still alive. I just play my game paying attention to every other player.

When u are near the money u can bluff, everybody is going to be protecting their chips and u can try to bluff some pots and take them down on the flop or the turn, dont try bluffing with 3 bets, because most of the times u are going to get called.

Its very important that u represent a tight image on the first 2 hours, because its going to pay u back later on.

Another thing is that they dont change your table, thats the thing i hate the most, because u will have to start watching other players to know how good they are.

Wow i think this is my biggest post so far.Hope u can cash on some freerolls, good luck

Good advice. I like playing freerolls sometimes and it does get a bit overwhelming. I never bluff in freerolls until like the final 10-15 tables. I get by pretty well without bluffing until then.

He basically summed it up ^

Play very tight at the beginning, and just play solid throughout.

In a very large tourny, you should onlyyyy be playing the best of cards.or even sitout the first 15 min. When ya make it better than halfway, then you may consider playing other cards.Right before the bubble,go back to premium hands, after the bubble play premium cards unless you have to play other cards.thats how I win tourneys.

There should be an article up within the week or next couple of days that explains the "Art of the Freeroll." I would definitely look at that as I will be deploying a few strategies that people use and going in-depth on it.

ROUNDEYEi just play my cards the same way all the way through. if i get knocked out, no big deal, its free

if you get a tourny full of roundeyes you should cash no bother.

i always look at the number of runners and the prizemoney.
prizemoney divided by runners decides if it's worth playing.

so prizemoney $1000 and 500 entry then tourney rated $2.

then I multiply this by 2 to allow for sit outs and roundeyes.

if it's rated less than 2 you are probably better off playing a sng.
